Magnetic Disturbance
(3x3=7)

This story uses the words: "magnetic disturbance" on a nautical map together with the fact that there are seven major San Juan islands (with the three large ones forming a triangle as in Bermuda triangle) to bring about travel through time and space. The Stephens family is riding on a ferry in the San Juan Islands in Washington when a fog comes up and they are thrown back in time and space.

The three children each experience one of the forces of the spiritual Law of Three and the two parents experience the vibrations of the spiritual Law of Seven in a progression from one to seven. Some of the experiences are related to the past and future history of the San Juans, but, most importantly, each adventure helps to elucidate one of forces of the Law of Three or one of the vibrations of the Law of Seven. Eventually they are all reunited back on the ferry.

Summary of the esoteric principles which are uncovered:

There exists an 'Ocean' that began at the beginning of human life that flows through time to the present. It is invisible; but, like the ocean, it consists of waves that rise and fall. Sometimes a wave, coming in from far away in the past, overtakes another and moves forward into the present. And so it was one day for the Stephens family.

Life in Seattle was becoming much too hectic from when they first moved there fifteen years ago. Wendy and Dylan were really looking forward to a three-week vacation in the San Juans with their teenage son, Kes, their teenage daughter, Nirvana, and their eleven-year-old son, Tarot. Having both passed through their own mid-life crisis, Wendy and Dylan were feeling pleased and somehow amazed that they were still together in this age of divorce.

You know how it is when you suddenly wake up and realize that you are really quite different than the you that you thought you were. Fortunately you have not metamorphosized into Kafka beetle for this new-you looks about the same in the mirror. Maybe a few more wrinkles and yet this new older you is unmistakably different than the younger you that you thought you were. Even more terrifying than this realization is that the person you have been married to for over twenty years is completely different also. Wendy and Dylan somehow survived it all. Maybe the fact that they were still best friends allowed them to rekindle their love for each other.

Having boarded the ferry to Friday Harbor in the San Juans and sent their teens off to buy some fish and chips at the cafe on the ferry, it is almost with tears in their eyes that Wendy and Dylan look across at each other. How complicated everyday life in this world has become. Somehow it never used to be this way. All that was behind them now as the ferry swished past the craggy sea mountains of the San Juan Islands that were peeking out from the water, as seagulls chased after the ferry hoping for handouts.

In our so-called present, we often travel back to the past. Sometimes we are medieval kings and queens, jesters and actors, knights and princesses. At other times we are in Egypt as great pharaohs or teachers. All of it seems so real. Actually every famous person does exist within us like some sort of mystical DNA. This is what makes history so valuable because it contains the signposts to this timeless 'Ocean' that connects us all where no one is greater than another. To access the knowledge of some famous person like Einstein, DaVinci, or Buddha or some person who never achieved fame, but who influenced maybe only a few others, we need only to connect ourselves to this 'Ocean'.

"What a power spot this feels like," says Wendy with her eyes full of wonder.

"Yes, I was just thinking how this place seems like the kind of place where the first sea creatures climbed onto the land," Dylan replies. "I've always felt that the sea somehow possessed all knowledge like the answer to my childhood question of how we came to exist out of nothing."

"I'm sure when the day comes that we are smart enough to communicate with the whales and dolphins we will find out that they already know all the answers."

Just then the three children came back with their trays of fish and chips talking excitedly. They had looked at the map of the San Juan Islands while they were waiting in line and saw written on it the words "Magnetic Disturbance".

"Do you think the San Juans are like the Bermuda Triangle?" asks Kes.

"After all there are three major Islands in sort of a triangle with Orcas on the top, Lopez on the right, and San Juan on the left."

"Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could go back in time," says Nirvana. "But," she hastily adds, I don't want to be kidnapped by aliens." Nirvana's favorite stories are the Wizard of Oz, the Labyrinth, and Alice in Wonderland.

"I like Orcas best," says Tarot, "it reminds me of the Orca whales. It has a double shape like it belongs on the top of an enneagram."

All three children were well versed in esoteric symbols like their parents so they all get up to take a better look at the map. They are astonished to see even more symbolism. Besides the triangle of three islands, there are four major bodies of water: Haro Strait on the left, Rosario Strait on the right, the Straits of Juan deFuca to the south and the Straits of Georgia to the north.

"You see it is just like the ancient Sacred Four and the Four Directions of the Native Americans," says Tarot who is currently reading a book that his grandfather, Peter John, wrote called Towappu about a young boy who was taken prisoner by the Indians.

"And I just counted seven islands," says Kes, not to be out done by his younger brother. " You see there is Orcas, Blakely, Decatur, Lopez, Shaw, San Juan, and Waldron." Kes is currently rehearsing for his part as Merlin the Magician in a play at the Community Theater in Friday Harbor.

"You are right," says Dylan. " Imagine that! A triangle within a circle of seven surrounded by four! That sounds like an enneagram. This certainly is a powerful place."

"After all Seattle is the Emerald City. So this could be the Land of Oz," says Wendy.

"Imagine if some Bermuda type vortex took us up like Dorothy," says Nirvana.

"Imagine if we just dropped off the edge of the world. The way it was when they thought the world was flat," says Dylan.

Yes, over the rainbow; over that edge," says Wendy. "Sounds like a great title for a book."

Just then a thick fog suddenly appeared and the ferry started rocking back and forth as if it had been hit by a huge wave. The Stephens family were each caught by one of the universal vibrations of Three or Seven and disappeared…

Something had disrupted time. Since the children were three in number, they somehow split up under the direction of each of the three primary forces: original force, opposite force, and stabilizing force. Under the influence of original force, Tarot was suddenly thrown back in time onto Orcas Island sometime near the close of the 18th century.

The island still holds some of the names that describe the terrible massacre of the peaceful Lummi tribe by hostile tribes from the north like Massacre Bay and Skull Island, but today was the day of a great Potlatch. All tribes from nearby islands including Vancouver Island had been invited to a feast being provided by a whale that had died on the beach of West Sound to exchange gifts and celebrate.

In the one hundred-foot longhouse, the women were preparing side dishes of clams and oysters smothered with garlic and onion while the men searched for deer.

Outside the long house sat an old Indian smoking a long pipe. Tarot figured that he was a medicine man so he went up to him to talk. Since Tarot could not speak Salish nor he, English, the medicine man started to draw pictures in the sand. First he pointed to the sky and, as if bringing the sun and stars down in his hands, placed his hands on his own shoulders and then on Tarot's shoulders. He then drew a circle in the sand. Around this circle he drew seven power animals. It looked like the picture below:

Tarot's favorite power animal is the wolf and he immediately recognized the symbol just above the 'S' for south. It was a wolf howling at the moon. Strange he thought that the medicine man had used our letters for the directions, but he did not know that the medicine man had a compass which he had acquired in a previous potlatch with another member of a tribe. It must have been part of a wrecked English ship. In fact to this day there is an old ship's anchor up on Turtleback, a mountain shaped like a turtle sitting on Orcas Island.

With Wolf figured out, Tarot could recognize Bear in the west showing its ears as in the sign language symbol, Buffalo in the north with its sign language horns, and Eagle in the east as a feather. Tarot had studied under a Native American medicine man one summer and knew the four directions. He also knew that the Raven was the center of all things with the Rattlesnake being its similar power. He saw Dolphin and Hummingbird above, Whale and Frog below, Turtle in the southwest, Deer in the northwest, Horse in northeast, and Hawk as southeast. It all made perfect sense and this time it seemed from the medicine man's gestures to be not just a medicine wheel, but somehow a whole new astrological system. (See Appendix B)

Tarot remembered what Gurdjieff had said in one of his talks to his students that if two men of different schools met, they would, with the enneagram, be able to understand each other spiritually, just as the Holy Spirit allowed the disciples of Jesus to understand each other at the Pentecost. These symbols had the same result because it allowed the medicine man and Tarot to communicate. This is also true of music that comes from the heart. When sitting around the fire, the tribe would often request songs that Tarot had played drums to in the Stephens family band: Buffalo Rising. The song they liked best, since somehow they knew it related to their red race, was one he would sing and drum to:

Tarot soon learned that he was Wolf within, Whale outside, balanced by the Raven. The chief himself was Raven within, Bear outside, balanced by Buffalo.

The raven has always been a symbol of sorcery in the Middle Ages, and in Native American culture. It is also the symbol for magic. Raven represents that one cannot return to the Creator without being willing to plunge into the void and to dissolve all connection with your self as you perceive it now. Raven can be deceitful or truthful for it depends on its purity. Raven sometimes chooses to destroy everything that you have believed in and other times it brings instructions directly from the Creator to encourage and guide your struggle. Raven's position in the Medicine Wheel is 'within' and is the seventh sign closest to the Creator.

It was through Raven that Tarot would escape, but to understand how it was possible, it is necessary to understand the first sign: Buffalo. Buffalo symbolizes abundance: when you respect and live in harmony with nature, your needs will be provided for. The sign Buffalo is willing to sacrifice its life for the well being of others. Buffalo is the guardian of natural and spiritual values and the foundation of all progress that is why it is 'north' on the Medicine Wheel.

You see the whale had washed up on the beach bringing with it intuition. The sign Whale is psychic and balanced, for it knows that within all things is the answer to everything. Whale resolves all differences and it was through Whale that the many different tribes came together for this feast. The arrival of Whale which is 'below' on the Medicine Wheel also set the groundwork for a higher plane which caused the connection to the time vortex that had caught Tarot.

There was a great feast and Tarot was made welcome as if he was a member of the tribe. In the evening they danced around a huge fire. Tarot got to wear a wolf skin and beat the ceremonial drum. The other boys danced dressed in their own power animals. In the shadows of the fire with the head of the wolf, Tarot imagined he was the brave boy in Peter and the Wolf.

Every morning after that Tarot would return to the sand where the chief would again draw the medicine wheel and teach Tarot more about this new astrology based on seven. The medicine man explained all the signs to him and Tarot remembered them all. Tarot having been named after the Tarot cards soon saw how this new astrology related to laws of three and seven just as the major arcana is 3 x 7= 21 with the fool card as card zero.

After a full moon the medicine man began to be uneasy. He would often jump up and look out to the water as if he saw something. One day, when they were sitting next to the medicine wheel, he picked up a stone and held it up to the sky, then put it in Tarot's hand. He placed his hands to his stomach and then up again to the sky. It was clear to Tarot that the medicine man was showing him how the Great Spirit had given stones to people, because stones would not break, to give them strength to endure great pain. Tarot put the stone in his pocket.

Then one terrible night it came. There was shouting and screaming! Tarot ran out of the longhouse. How it was that he was able to run past the invading Indian tribe without getting killed he did not know, but as he ran to the place where the medicine wheel was, he saw the medicine man standing next to it. The moon was full and Tarot could see quite clearly that the medicine man was beckoning him into the center.

Tarot leaped into the center and a huge raven lifted him up on his back; for the raven, like the rattlesnake, brings rebirth. As Tarot looked down on the destruction as if in astral projection, he could distinctly hear the medicine man say; "Help guide our spirits in the next world." As the raven rose higher and higher, Tarot knew that the medicine man had given his life like the sign Buffalo so that Tarot could return to the present time.

As the spirits of those who died that day rose past him, they could remember again how to be reborn. The symbol of the Raven gave them the hope that they could unite with the creator and to be able to dissolve the lines of pain that bind humans to the earth.

Tarot was back on the ferry.

Within everything is the Law of Three. The first force is original force. Original force cannot exist for long without bringing the second force: opposite force into existence. Unless the third force: stabilizing force is present original force and opposite force will constantly change places. Many times this third force: stabilizing force is ignored, but its presence is essential.

The three forces: original force, opposite force, and stabilizing force (described by Gurdjieff as passive, active, and neutralizing) create the whole existing world. Tarot had been caught in the influence of the original force, but Kes was pulled by the opposite force to the island of Lopez.

Kes was suddenly standing in the midst of a cornfield that was so high that he could not see over the top. Before him and behind him was a trampled path through the corn. All the corn on the ground was evenly spread on the ground. Kes wondered if it was a crop circle.

Having been through mazes before in Britain, Kes walked down the pathways searching for an exit. As he walked down different paths, Kes discovered that each path opened up into a small disk cut into the corn from which other paths lead. The disks somehow formed a pattern. This maze so captivated Kes that many hours went by. Finally he felt that he understood the pattern and by looking up at the sun he could see that the disk he was standing in was clearly the bottom disk.

"Let me assume that the top disk is heaven and the bottom disk is the earth," thought Kes out loud. "Then the three disks in between would be soul, spirit, and body." In an instance all became clear to him. "I know what this is. It is the Kabbalah!" shouted Kes.

"There are no outer lines, but those outer lines always confused me," said Kes trying to remember the Hebrew names.

"Malkuth is earth and Kether is heaven," said Kes.

"Then the disk just above Malkuth is Yesod, the human physical body.

The next disk is Tiphareth, the spirit." Kes knew Tiphareth well for his name was derived from Gurdjieff's name for spirit or astral body: Kesdjan which is his full name.

"And then the disk below Kether, but above Tiphareth, is Daath, the soul," Kes continued.

Curiously, Kes realized that this Kabbalah was slightly different from the usual one as the lines here connected the upper left and right disks to Daath, but in the usual one they are connected to Tiphareth. This symbol was more symmetrical and seemed easier to understand. "Perhaps this was the original symbol," thought Kes.

As he walked from bottom to top, he spoke the names: "Malkuth, Yesod, Tiphareth, Daath, Kether." As he said these words there was a flash of lightning.

Kes got his hopes up.

"Let me try it again but this time walking through all the paths in order starting from Yesod, the physical body," thought Kes, "Maybe this will get me back."

First Kes had to review everything he had learned about the Law of Seven in Gurdjieff's enneagram.

He remembered the song that he enjoys playing bass to with Buffalo Rising which described the Law of Seven:

The Law of Seven, he remembered, is best demonstrated in the musical scale as 'do', 're', 'mi', 'fa', 'sol', 'la', 'ti' with the next 'do' being an octave higher. The vibration 'do' is original force, the vibration 're' is opposite force, the vibration 'mi' is stabilizing force. In combination they are original force for the vibration 'fa' which is opposite force and the vibration 'sol' which is stabilizing force. This second grouping is then original force for the vibration 'la' which is opposite force and the vibration 'ti' which is stabilizing force.

The enneagram is exactly like the Kabbalah as it maps the Law of Seven as 3 x 3. This represents the progression of the Law of Three from a lower state to a higher state from 'do' to the next higher 'do'. The groups are:

The three vibrations in each set must be of equal quantity to become original force for the next set of two forces: opposite force and stabilizing force. The final set when balanced allows the passage to the higher octave 'do'. This shows that 3 x 3 = 7 not 9. Another way of looking at this is to count these three sets giving ten in our number system (one in numerology) and also on the enneagram, but the seven is more precise.

The Law of Seven can be mapped on a piano in the key of C as C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. These are the white keys. The white keys with no black keys between them show the places where the vibrations change and where the places are located that require an outside or inner force to continue. The interesting point is that the space between B and the higher C must be acted upon at the space between G and A (the triangle inside the enneagram. In a rainbow the Law of Seven is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

"So let me say the Hebrew name, the note, the color, the significance of the position, and the corresponding line to the Twenty-Third Psalm. That ought to be powerful enough!" Kes thought.

Since the Twenty-Third Psalm does not cover 'do', 're', 'mi', Kes used the unifying statement of the Kabbalah, which is the last line of the Lord's Prayer: 'For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory , Forever'. He knew that this is another way of saying the symbols for the Law of Three, which are also manifested in human form as body, feelings, and thought.

'"Yesod, 'do', red, physical body, 'Kingdom'," Kes chanted.

Then he took the path to the left until he reached the disk and chanted, "Hod, 're', orange, feelings, 'Glory'."

Then he took the path sideways to the right to the disk and chanted, "Netzach, 'mi', yellow, thought, 'Power'."

Then he took the upper path to the right to the next disk and chanted, "Tiphareth, 'do'-'re'-'mi', balanced body, mind and feelings: consciousness."

Then he took the upper path to the right and chanted, "Chesed, 'fa', green, planetary consciousness, 'In the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil.'"

Then he took the path sideways to the left to the disk and chanted, "Geburah, 'sol', blue, spirit complete, 'Thou prepareth a table before me.'"

Then he took the upper path to the right and chanted, "Daath, the God of Abraham, 'do-re-mi-fa-sol', balanced consciousness having conscience."

Then he took the upper path to the left and chanted, "Binah, the God of Isaac, 'la', indigo, star consciousness, 'He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.'"

 Then he took the path sideways to the right to the disk and chanted, "Chokmah, God of Jacob, 'ti', violet, completed soul, 'He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:'"

Then he took the upper path to the right until he reached the disk and chanted "Kether, 'do', white, soul reconciled with God, 'The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.'" When he looked down at the ground he saw a pendant which he picked up and put around his neck. On it were engraved the words: '-Power+Glory=Kingdom'.

There was a high-pitched sound and then Kes found himself in a clear dome on a flying saucer racing into the stars. Then in the next moment he was back on the ferry.

The two primary forces of original force and opposite force that caught Tarot and Kes are very recognizable. They are good and evil, positive and negative, push and pull, male and female The third primary force is less obvious but without the presence of this third force, the stabilizing force, there would be constant shifting from original to opposite and back constantly. There would be no stability without it.

The atom of hydrogen does not contain a neutron and thanks to this, we have a sun, for its state switches from original to opposite and then back at every moment. Gravity on the sun pulls but the explosion pushes back, then after after a billion year the sun will die out while other stars will eventually explode in a super nova or turn to black holes, depending on which force wins.

As a human being you experience every day the action of the Law of Three inside you by the interaction of your physical body, your feelings, and your thought. Everything including the spiritual realm is subject to the Law of Three for instance: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; or Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu; or Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; or Yin, Yang, and Tai Chi (their interaction). Even our own democratic government conforms to the Law of Three with the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court.

In the new theories of physics and in the manufacture of electronic devices with 'fuzzy logic', no longer is something considered positive or negative, black or white, right or wrong. Now there is a recognition that processes in the real world can actually exist in between these states.

In God's creation stabilizing force is always present behind what we see, but, seeing only incomplete processes, we mistakenly accept these as reality. The astronomers tell us that the universe is expanding, but one day it will contract or disappear; statisticians tell us that population is increasing, but one day it will decrease or disappear; physicians tell us that we are healthy, but one day we will be sick or die; the economists tell us that the stock market will rise, but one day it will crash. All these processes that make up our lives are completely temporary, because they are merely the action of original force and opposite force without stabilizing force.

So it was not surprising that Nirvana, the only daughter and the middle child, was pulled by the stabilizing force to San Juan Island. The time that she arrived in was one of the important events of the past in the San Juan Islands known as the 'Pig War'. The place is now called American Camp and is a national park.

American camp is today a strange place being overrun with rabbits that supply an easy meal to eagles, buzzards, and hawks. In those days it was a grazing ground for many sheep that were owned by the English.

It was at a very dangerous point that Nirvana arrived. A man was about to shoot the pig that had come into his yard to dig up the potatoes. As Alice, in Wonderland, did, Nirvana instinctively ran and put her arm around the pig to protect it. As the man fired, something strange happened. Though John McKay may have wondered if he saw a girl, he was too consumed with rage to think about it any further, and Nirvana vanished from the scene almost as quickly as she had appeared.

Nirvana dove for a thicket as the gun exploded and the next moment Nirvana found herself walking quickly through a small tunnel in a thicket just big enough for a sheep. Nirvana had to bend down as she walked through. She figured that it had an exit, for on each low branch of overhanging tree or blackberry thorns, there were pieces of white puffy wool that had been combed off the sheep's back as it ran through. She took a piece of wool and put it in her pocket.

As this tunnel continued on, it reminded her of Alice's rabbit hole. Then there was a patch of blue sky shining through the tunnel up ahead and Nirvana was out on a hill overlooking a beautiful cove with sheep all around.

Nirvana loved sheep and this place reminded her of England and Wales. She climbed up to the highest point overlooking the cove and the Straits and sat down to observe the sheep and the ocean. She wondered if she would ever return to the present.

Just then a soldier, dressed in an outfit from the American Civil War, walked up and invited her to come to their camp at the top of the hill. The soldier's wife was busy scrubbing clothes in a big wooden tub as she was the laundry lady of the camp. When she saw Nirvana, she asked her if she would like a cup of hot tea. The tea was a special tea given to them by the English who were stationed in the north part of the island.

All the other soldiers came around to say hello, as there was not much excitement here usually, mostly just digging ditches and staring at the seagulls. They all sat down at a long folding table, asking Nirvana a lot of questions, which Nirvana avoided as much as she could. She was afraid to mention the pig story because maybe they would arrest her for trespassing and they would not have believed that she came from a ferry sometime in the future.

To change the subject Nirvana took out her tarot card deck, and began to do readings. When the Magician card would turn up, she would say, "the future is before you." (In Nirvana's deck the Magician Card is a magician looking into a crystal ball. It represents the beginning of your physical life on earth.)

When the High Priestess card turned up she would say, "we are brothers and sisters of the earth." (The High Priestess card in her deck is a High Priestess holding a globe with a map of the earth on it. It represents the need for peace in our struggle to survive on earth.)

When the Empress card would turn up, she would say, "Draw your strength from the earth." (The Empress card is a figure looking like Mother Nature picking a flower from a garden. It shows how there is unlimited strength with being in balance with oneself and the earth.)

These three cards represent the three forces acting at the beginning of the seven steps of physical existence.

They all asked her for readings late into the night. Nirvana could have cheated and told them their futures from what she remembered from history class, but instead she advised them on their spiritual growth as shown by the major arcana cards in the tarot deck. This is what is most important in a reading anyway

They were very pleased with the readings because it allowed them to access their inner selves. The suits of swords, rods, cups, and pentacles which correspond directly with fire, earth, air, and water in astrology represent the everyday occurrences of life.

When a major arcana card appears, it represents a spiritual influence in your life. This spiritual influence may have a pleasant or disastrous effect on your everyday life, but it always brings an opportunity for spiritual growth. Whether you accept this opportunity is up to you.

Nirvana slept overnight in a tent.

To relax, Nirvana sang to herself the fun song about the tarot cards which she plays flute to with Buffalo Rising and also because it reminded her of her younger brother who she knew would find a way back:

Early in the morning she felt really homesick and took a walk down to the ocean. Hearing a swishing sound that sounded like whales breathing, she looked up to see a pod of Orca whales. They were jumping and splashing about, but after a while it became clear to her that they were forming some sort of pattern in their jumping. There were seven whales all together and when they jumped all at the same time, Nirvana thought about the enneagram star on the shirt she was wearing. It was one of the symbols used by the Stephens' family group Buffalo Rising.

Now, an enneagram star is a seven pointed star that divides up a circle according to the vibration rates of the musical notes 'do', 're', 'mi', 'fa', 'sol', 'la', and 'ti'. Dividing a circle of 360 degrees by the vibration ratios of each of these notes gives  a mark at 45 degrees, 45 degrees, 30 degrees, 60 degrees, 60 degrees, 75 degrees, and 45 degrees. Then making them into points, an enneagram star is created. The vibration ratios are as follows: 'do' - 're' is 1/8, 'do' to 'mi' is 1/4, 'do' to 'fa' is 1/3, 'do' to 'sol' is 1/2. 'do' to 'la' is 2/3, 'do' to 'ti' is 7/8, and 'do' to higher 'do' is 1.

Below is the enneagram star™ oriented with the vibration listed below it:

Nirvana knew that the power of an enneagram star lies in its discontinuity. Up until the age of the atom, physics had always believed that the world was ordered. Even though Einstein insisted, "God does not play dice with the universe," Nirvana knew that this is exactly what God does. Order is a figment of our shortsighted imagination. God is the force behind the universe, but, within it, chance rules. Self-will is possible only by choosing the paths that are presented by rolls of the dice. This is actually the new view in the physics of the universe after Einstein that is based on Mandelbrot and Julia sets. This new theory of chaos says that even chance has rules of symmetry.

It is linear thinking that makes us think that we are born, live for a short time, and then die. However, nothing can remain forever in a straight line or a perfect circle. The enneagram shows that. For, as in the music scale, when presented in just intonation the vibrations always slow down when passing from 'mi' to 'fa' and from 'ti' to 'do'. Even in space, eventually, some object's gravitational field will change the course of an object traveling in a straight line or a circular orbit.

We all cling faithfully to linear paths in the vain hope that belief will make accidents and violence disappear. Ceremony becomes the vehicle that tries to keep us on the straight road. There are baby showers, baby-showing-off parties, Bar Mitzvahs, first Moontime celebrations, sweet sixteen parties, eighteen year-old driver's license celebrations, graduations, weddings, anniversaries, then silver and gold, and let us not forget funerals, the last great linear event! In the midst of all this so-called order, there are those unstructured things we believe only happen to others, until it happens to us. These fateful events are fully displayed in violent movies, so there is no need to discuss them here. These events inevitably change the straight direction and even turn us in circles.

There is no such thing as a picture-perfect life. There are skeletons in every closet. Even money cannot guarantee perfection. Only stabilizing force can guarantee a permanent life and this can come only through personal struggle and a connection with God. By leaving worldly concerns behind and working toward the growth of a spirit and then a soul, it may be possible to gain permanence and perfection, but this will require the loss of the physical world and all its enjoyments.

It is the discontinuity of the Law of Seven in the enneagram that causes the accidents and the violence, but it is exactly because of this discontinuity that we can grow and have individuality. Without friction in life there is no way to gain spiritual growth. Fortunately we are not all rich for riches are really a curse. If we were all rich, the human race would be as boring as an ant colony.

The inner connected lines, that make the enneagram so unique, are the result of numbering the points around the circle corresponding to the vibrations 'do' -'ti' including the two extra points formed by the inner triangle and then connecting these points according to the repeating decimal result of one divided by seven. Although studies made about these lines are very popular, it must be understood that these relationships represent only the trivial ones whereas the Law of Seven around the circumference demonstrates growth.

Nirvana thought about how the Law of Seven rules everything. She remembered how her father had once showed her a method of figuring out the influence of each year or birthday (similar to numerology), but based on the Law of Seven. Beginning at 7 B.C., the real birth of Christ and counting forward in seven sets, it was possible to figure out which vibration of the Law of Seven governed the year measured spring to spring.

It is easier to just take the last two digits for a date in the 1900's and subtracting 1 if before March 21, (add 2 if the year 2000), divide by seven with the remainder being 1(do), 2(re), 3(mi), 4(fa), 5(sol), 6(la), 0(ti).)

Nirvana recalculated her birth year 1979. Nirvana recalculated her birth year 1979. Since her birth month, January, is before March 21; it would be (79 - 1) divided by 7 equals remainder 1. Knowing that her birth was a new plateau, she knew that she could easily advance to whatever place in time if she had to. First she had to find out what year it was here.

Just then a shepherd called out to her, "Are you lost?"

Nirvana replied, "Yes, will you tell me what year this is."

The shepherd seemed confused by her question, but answered her. Then he said, "My name is Charles Griffin, what's yours."

Nirvana's answer was lost in the winds of time for like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz she was already moving toward the present. Just by calculating the difference between the present and the past, she had plotted her way home.

"I'm back!" Nirvana said and so she was.

Within the tarot cards, there are the major arcana cards numbered 0 - 21 (0 is the Fool card representing the absence of higher influence) and 21 other cards (3 x 7.) Cards 1-7 are the physical body, cards 8-14 are the spirit, and cards 15-21 are the soul. If you place cards 1-7 in a clockwise circle with Card 1 at 12 o'clock then card 8 should be placed between cards 3 and 4 to begin an outer clockwise circle with card 9 being just outside of card 4. Card 15 should be placed between cards 10 and 11 to begin a third outer circle with card 16 being just outside of card 11. The last two cards 20 and 21 are related to the interrelationship of the soul with God and are displayed inside the circles.

The points at which the two higher sets of seven enter in the two outer circles are the places where their influence is necessary for spiritual growth according to the Law of Seven in the enneagram. See the diagram below:

The Law of Three also works inside of the Law of Seven and Wendy and Dylan seemed to have been caught inside of the Law of Seven. Within the Law of Seven are three sets of three steps, each set being controlled by the three forces original force, opposite force, and stabilizing force, the three steps within each set being controlled by these same forces.

Initially Dylan was caught in the first step of the first set at vibration 'do' and Wendy was caught by the second step of the first set at vibration 're'. This was because male energy being opposite force was attracted to original force and female energy being original force was attracted to opposite force.

The vibration 'do', is to human potential as the beginning of creation in Genesis is to life itself: 'In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.' This is the place where inanimate matter turns into animate matter. God can be considered to be at the higher octave 'do' and therefore this would represent the place where God's creation ends, but also it is the place where life begins its struggle back to God in the opposite direction of matter. Since this is the beginning of life, it brings with it tremendous energy to become more complex and to evolve spiritually. This is why a baby having already passed from 'do' to 're', cries with feelings. For a human to possess merely physical impulses would be for a human to be like a tree or a blade of grass as this is the vibration of the lower octave 'do'.

Being the first vibration of this Law of Seven, it relates directly to the creation of a physical body and also sets the foundation for mankind's spiritual growth in the 'Right View' of Buddha's Eightfold Path. The importance of building on a righteous foundation is in the first Commandment of: 'Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor ...' and in the Beatitudes Jesus says, 'Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven ...'As the vibration 'do' it is similar in tone but of lower vibration to the higher 'do' of God thus Hermetic Law of Hermes Trismegistus states: 'As above, so below; as below, so above'.

Standing on a sandy beach below a cliff with palm trees, Dylan looked out on the strange world in which he had landed. The sun was just rising and was a red ball of light. He might have thought that he was standing on some beach in the San Juan Islands except that the warm sea breezes had the feeling of Hawaii or, perhaps, an even more ancient place like the Garden of Eden. This place definitely reminded him of the day when the first life appeared in the blue-green algae sea.

The noon sun was hot, but it radiated an energy that felt masculine. The sand below his feet was soft and yielding like feminine energy. At the center of the universe Dylan stood. It reminded him of a Native American sweat lodge where the present existed in every fiber of your body. Although it was clear to Dylan that his family was nowhere around, there was such a closeness to nature that he felt that, from this place, anything and everything were possible.

It felt like the day that he was born naked into the world or, at least, as it must have been, if he could remember. Almost instinctively, Dylan shed his clothes. Without the shame that is instilled in children from the time they are toddlers about being naked, there can be an incredible connection to nature when naked in a non-sexual environment. A naked body connects oneself to the baby within and to the child that was young enough to still be allowed to run naked on the beach.

For some reason today's society has an oppressive view toward nudity that was not present in ancient times. In the Egyptian times of Akhenaton and Tutankhamen, nudity was the norm in the palace. In the ancient Greek Olympics the contestants were naked. (Why, if we are following the ancient tradition, is this not true today?) In days before bathing suits, people thought nothing of getting undressed and going for a swim. When John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the name of God, he and Jesus were naked. No one thought that was strange.

In fact Jesus in the New Testament in Matthew 6-28,29 supports casualness in clothing: 'And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto to you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.' Perhaps you might say that this is allegorical, but in a censored book of the regular Bible: the Gospel of Thomas in verse 37 Jesus says, 'When you strip without being ashamed and you take your clothes and put them under your feet like little children and trample them, then you will see the child of the living one and you will not be afraid.' St. Francis of Assisi understood this when he stripped off all his worldly clothes to follow the path of Jesus.

As Dylan started to walk across the sand, he could feel the warm wind caress his skin. The rays of the sun flowed into him past his physical body into his essence inside. The rhythm of his steps and the swaying of those parts of his body usually bound up and hidden gave new energy within. He began to run around in large circles with arms outstretched like a child playing on the beach.

In the midst of such joy and openness, Dylan stopped running and sat down on the sand. A wave of sadness came over him as he thought how far away he was from that ferry on which he once stood. The joy he felt at being naked had connected him with nature so much that he felt sad for those who have never experienced this primordial state. It was only a few decades ago that a whole generation tried to connect us back to nature. Now it is merely a joke: 'flower power'.

Most people, being envious of those who practice nudity (referred to more specifically as naturalism), like to make fun of naked people, but so do naked people make fun of dressed people calling them 'textiles.' Why would you want to sweat into a fabric and have that fabric smell of body odor, unless covered up with a perfume, rather than having that sweat evaporate naturally into the air without causing a smell. Perhaps it is the sexual energy, evoked naturally by nakedness, which people fear that they cannot control. Violent sex comes from violent minds, not nakedness. Sexual energy must be connected with conscience. When sexual energy comes alive in nakedness, it balances all the body, feelings, and thoughts which make up a human being. This is the true expression of love and peace.

Opposite force always seeks to destroy original force. It is neither safe nor legal to run naked across the sand except in a very few progressive places. Yet this obsession to remain clothed even down to some skimpy thong bikini is clearly a contributing factor to our lopsided existence. Clothes are used to hide the mind, to hide the feelings, to hide the soul. To run naked is what humans were meant to do since the beginning of time! Most movies in order to achieve an R-rating portray nakedness and many people go to see them so the R-rating is the norm. In this vicarious existence, fully clothed in a movie theater chair or at home on the couch, humankind supports nudity!

Dylan was so lost in his thoughts that he did not even see the native people that started to walk toward him. They had been watching him suspiciously from the palm trees thinking that perhaps this creature, which had just appeared, was some sort of visitor from outer space with some deformed alien body. As soon as they saw that he was a person that had a body just like their males, they decided to go out and greet him.

Dylan suddenly looked up and was startled. He instinctively looked around for something to cover up his nakedness as was appropriate in the world he had left. Looking up again, all fear disappeared because walking toward him were thirty or forty men and women all naked, too. It wasn't so much their nakedness that made it seem so safe, but rather their outrageous hats with feathers stuck in them. The men had big floppy straw hats and the women wore hats that looked like that banana lady with fruit on her hat in the commercials.

Dylan stood up and said "good morning" politely as they walked up to him and started to hug him like long lost friends, not just brief friendship hugs,

but

big sloppy you're-my-best friend-in-the-whole-world hugs.

There was such realness about their actions and, as our essences greeted each other, it was clear that there was no need for the

formal please-to-meet-you handshakes

and

phony nice-meeting-you hellos.

After all nothing is better at removing artificial boundaries than hugging naked, for there is nothing to hide!

As Dylan looked around at all these friendly faces, he could not get it out of his mind that he had seen them all before. Not deja vu ... not past lives. "I know what it is," shouted Dylan, "You're from Easter Island!" For their faces looked just like those statues that still exist today.

Having finished with these lavish hellos, a wonderful naked old lady came running up with a long ribbon of seaweed. She wrapped it around Dylan's waist so that it formed a tail in the back. They all started to laugh.

Dylan looked back at this seaweed tail, and then looked closer at the other people laughing. He had missed it before, but now he could see clearly that they all had tails! Then he realized why they were laughing. Their tails were not seaweed tails, but real lizard-like tails!

Dylan could not help but smile to think about the latest channeling craze about those lizards who are soon returning. There must have been a little static on the channeling line, for here were the lizard people! So dear channelers, Dylan thought, lizards are not evil aliens, but just loving, beautiful, naked people with tails.

It was then that Dylan was sure that he was in the lost continent Mu, the continent that existed before Atlantis and suffered a similar fate except from volcanic destruction. Mu (known as Lemuria to some) was located in the Pacific ocean. It is said to have sunk because of fire and even today the Pacific is surrounded by what is called a "Ring of Fire" which refers to the volcanoes surrounding it. Nearby to the San Juans are the volcanoes of Mt. Baker, further down is Mt. Rainier and below that is Mt. St. Helens and down in California is Mt. Shasta. Some people say that the San Juans where once part of Mu and there is no doubt that they possess the same primordial energy of Mu.

The village held a great celebration with dances and song to celebrate Dylan's visit. The people were dressed up in grass shirts, colorful cloth robes, and, of course, still their outlandish hats. In this society, people wore clothes for decoration only.

Dylan was soon to learn that in this world there were no crimes and everyone was treated as a friend. There was always enough food to share and no one forced their will on anyone else. Since everyone knew each other's thoughts, neither judge nor jury was needed to decide guilt. Conscience was the law and everyone obeyed it.

How ironic that being naked today is used as an indicator of bad moral character. Clearly clothes are meant to be a decoration, not a cover-up. Behind plastic surgery or fancy clothes, with true nature hidden, it is hard to find the good people from the bad people. In real life the spooky music does not play when you meet an evil person and because evil people are being played by nice actors in movies playing stereotyped evil characters, we have lost our ability to discern the Ted Bundy's in our lives. It is time we learned again how to discern evil from good instead of relying on the law. For those who can see it, it is obvious who is evil and who is good, who is dark and who is light. Perhaps nudity could help to teach us again how to judge a person. Perhaps it could foster openness and caring when these artificial barriers are broken down.

The people of Mu taught Dylan how to use sexual energy to balance the physical body. This balance is not like Tantric Buddhist practices because it requires no ritual. A sexual connection is made with people and also nature just by being open to each other. Being naked in each other's presences helps bring this about. But it must be done with a feeling of love unrelated to the physical sexual act. Having grown up in the sixties, Dylan knew what a difficult task it was to prevent 'free love' from turning into 'free sex', and like all Mu principles this principle of sex was simple in fact, but hard in application.

Due to Mu's close relation with nature, so many things that are not possible today were possible then. This is perhaps why Edgar Cayce does not consider the spirits of Mu to be fully attached to their bodies.

During Dylan's stay there he witnessed the priests moving huge stones by entering into them and literally walking. He also saw how they could enter into birds and fly so that many called them the bird tribes.

Dylan recalled the song he had written with Wendy:

These people clearly knew the subtle relationship between the energy sent from the sun at the very vibration of our being. Akhenaton of Egypt knew this and for this he was murdered. Dylan started to think again how much his father looked like Akhenaton and his younger son like Tutankhamen. Just think how 'sun worshipers' even in modern times will risk even cancer just to lie naked, or at least as naked as they dare, just to receive the energy from the sun. It is this power that comes from the sun which connects with sexual energy. It is the all powerful primordial force of life. It is this force that was used to perform the miracles of Mu.

The power of Mu can topple all forms of government or beliefs because it is of different vibration. The Menehune, the elf-like creatures on the Big Island of Hawaii, still walk across the land and walk right through the rocks and houses that get in their way. Volcanoes erupt and leave the golden strands of Pele's hair for the wind to blow around the hardened lava. But, beware of capturing Pele's hair for it will change your life forever! For it forms a connection with Mu.

Dylan remembered how he had first tasted of the world of Mu on a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii during a solar eclipse. He remembered how he laughed when he had put money in a tree and it rang up like a cash register. He remembered the green sand beach and how people swam there naked. And he remembered collecting Pele's hair amongst the new formed lava. It was this visit which formed a chain of events that might have been viewed by some as misfortunes, but really were opportunities for spiritual growth and moving to the San Juan Islands.

There was no doubt in Dylan's mind that Mu would be in the vibration 'do' which meant that Wendy was probably in vibration 're'. He must use their love to join them together. For just as 'do' and 're' are opposite forces, so are male and female force. Since opposites attract, Dylan conjectured that Wendy and Dylan could merge and re-emerge at the third vibration 'mi', the place of stabilizing force. Physical life has all the possibilities of being light and airy like spirit, Dylan just had to find that place in order to connect with Wendy's spirit.

All of Dylan's learning on Mu came from non-verbal communication which is really the most exquisite form of writing. It is ironic that modern history only recognizes civilizations as advanced when they can communicate by writing. The written words passed down from ancient times are merely fragments, but non-verbal communication still exists in total within the essence of the planet earth. The hieroglyphic writing of Egypt, ridiculed by scholars as being too cumbersome, was closer to the communication of Mu because thoughts were expressed symbolically. One symbol can contain as much knowledge as a million of our pages not to mention the ten times a million interpretations that would have to be written due to the imprecision of modern language where some words have different meanings.

Because time is connected from beginning to end, Dylan met many friends in Mu that he knew from the world he left. He found Wendy and his children and grandchildren and even himself! Although these people were the same people, they existed like a dream connection. In a dream you can feel the characters to be real, but when you wake up you realize that they were not physically present. It is the same during re-entry in the physical plane before birth.

It was time to leave Mu and Dylan told all his new best friends that he must get back to the time period that he had left. From their point of view, they saw no reason to return because time had no meaning. For this reason there could not have been a more perfect place to have the ability to move through time than on Mu.

Standing on the shore, Dylan could see the hazy outline of Wendy standing in front of a huge crystal that had rays of light extending out in all directions. Reaching out toward Wendy, Dylan got so close to her that he could almost hear her breathe. The people of Mu sang a goodbye song. A whirlwind lifted him up. Below was an island looking much like Orcas Island. For a moment Dylan thought he saw Tarot also being carried by the whirlwind.

Dylan it seems had advanced to the vibration 'mi', the vibration after 're' where Wendy arrived, but was Wendy there, too?

Out of the darkness Wendy appeared into a world filled with crystal light. The color of the ocean, where she was standing, had a turquoise hue similar to the water that flows out of the ancient melting glaciers.

Off from the shore whales and dolphins were jumping in acrobatic leaps. Large and small seabirds were flying everywhere. Some were just gliding on the wind and others were swooping down to catch fish. Still others were running across the sand.

The vibration 're' represents feelings which is opposite force, being the result of original force at lower octave 'do' creating its opposing force, opposite force. In other words the presence of life creates feeling. All life has feelings to a certain degree, but in humans it is most advanced.

Inland from the shore there was a place where light seemed to emanate like rays from a crystal. As the sun became covered by some light golden clouds, the rays of light became more apparent. It must be part of a large city reflecting out to the sky, Wendy thought. Deciding to find out what it was, Wendy followed a path of large square stones toward the crystal light rays. As she got closer to the source of light, her path and the sky grew brighter and brighter.

In a short time Wendy was standing under a crystal arch. For a moment Wendy wondered if this was some new Las Vegas hotel built to outdo the Luxor pyramid hotel that she had stayed at with her family. There were many structures made of crystal. The architecture had a certain femininity about it and Wendy assumed that she must be in some goddess temple.

Two women dressed in rainbow-like fabric that draped loosely over their shoulders came out to greet her. When they spoke to her, although she could not understand the words, she did recognize one word, which explained much to her. The word 'Atlantis' made sense and yet it seemed incredible that she could have gone back so far in time.

This Atlantis of Wendy's past was very much as her near future would be after the year 2000. Just as there was a time in Atlantean history when it became necessary for females to take control of society, so it will be in Wendy's near future. Original force always brings about the opposite force and, if it fails to merge with stabilizing force to mitigate this change, a major catastrophe will result. In the world Wendy had left, the masculine force is still predominant, but the feminine force is slowly taking over. This was similar to Atlantis where status and money had become the reason for existence. The only way such a system can work is for the rich to enslave the poor. Eventually the poor will rebel unless the feminine principle of sharing and cooperation can re-emerge.

History is full of such switches from masculine to feminine and feminine to masculine. Such a time also occurred in prehistory when farmer women persuaded hunter-gatherer men that life was more stable if they would form cities and grow crops. Of course, in time the male principle took over and warring tribes of males who then built greater cities sacked cities. For thousands of years now the world that Wendy inherited has been subjected to the male principle of war. This period of war will hopefully pass into the female principle of mutual cooperation or else we may suffer the same fate as Atlantis.

The two women led Wendy past the beautiful buildings built like Native American pueblo apartments except that instead of sandstone they were built of crystal with beautiful polished marble floors. In the center of the buildings was a temple structure with a huge crystal at the peak that radiated light from all different points. Surrounding the temple on all sides was a pool. It was interesting to realize that this crystal architecture did not require the destruction of forests, but rather was constructed from the most plentiful building material: sand which was formed into crystal glass. The crystal at the peak of the roof, however, was a crystal that was made naturally by the forces of the earth and therefore had special qualities.

As they approached the bathing pool surrounding the temple, Wendy saw a woman bathing in the bubbling water. It was clear from her noble attitude that she must be the high priestess. She indicated that Wendy should join her. Some male assistants dressed in long dresses came forward and held a robe in front of Wendy as she undressed.

The high priestess, rather than being a skinny wisp of a girl that is considered beautiful in Wendy's world, had a voluptuous body similar to a Michelangelo painting in the days when fat was a sign of stature and beauty. Wendy got into the pool, which was heated just like a modern day hot tub. It felt good to relax.

As the high priestess began to talk, Wendy found that she could understand the thoughts even though the words were not in any familiar dialect. Maybe it was because she had lived there in a past life or maybe it was telepathy.

"I am glad you came," the high priestess said, "I am deeply concerned about the balance of male and female principles. It has become necessary at this time for the feminine principle to be predominant in Atlantean society that had been masculine too long, but I am fearing that if this change happens too quickly that there will be problems. Already some volcanoes are erupting and I fear that famines are beginning."

"I welcome your thoughts and feelings about this," said the high priestess. "Is it possible to bring forward the feminine principle without overpowering the masculine?"

"The feminine principle," replied Wendy, "is good at maintaining family cohesion and keeping the peace, but the masculine principle is better at building cities and at exploration. Clearly balance is what needs to be striven for. Balanced societies are those that will last."

Wendy remembered how Jesus recognizing the importance of the feminine force and masculine force in human beings said, 'Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.' Hermetic law also talks of this: 'Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes.' She remembered how the Essenes also recognized the need to balance the two forces with a day set aside for the 'Angel of Peace' and how Buddha's Eightfold path emphasized 'Right Aim' which is the path of 'harmlessness' which is the place where male and female principles are equal. After all, in the Genesis creation God said 'Let there be light... and divided the light from the darkness', original force from opposite force.

Wendy knew from legends how Atlantis had sunk under the Atlantic Ocean and wondered if it might have been the chaos that resulted from a predominance of male or female principles which caused its downfall. Wendy wanted to help to prevent this from happening with all her heart and she spoke for many hours with the high priestess. She was not sure if her thoughts were much help to the high priestess, but clearly the exchange of feelings was.

Natural disasters often do parallel mankind's social disasters but it is hard to know which comes first. The Native Americans believe that disaster can be prevented by certain humans who are designated as guardians. The Native Americans also have a story about how Atlantis was destroyed by a crystal generator, which was used as a weapon against Mu resulting in the destruction of both continents. Whether this story is an allegorical reference to the warring factions of male and female or if it really happened, we will never know for sure. It is believed that the Native Americans were direct descendants from Atlantis.

"Fearing the coming chaos our grandmothers had decided to keep emotional knowledge pure by placing it in crystals in an underwater cave guarded by dolphins", the high priestess confided.

"Pure emotions," the high priestess continued, "have the ability to raise consciousness, but bad emotional experiences seem to have the ability to cripple a person for life. Most people are starved for emotions and tend to believe that physical beauty is the same as emotional beauty. When pure emotions become tainted with bad emotional memories, then these pure emotions lose their power to uplift and heal. That is why it is important to keep emotional knowledge separate from feelings."

"Could I touch these crystals?" Wendy asked.

"Yes," she said, "we will go to the ocean tomorrow. I will show you how to access this crystal library then," she said, "but I must warn you that no has been able to get the dolphins to return with a crystal for many years now. Dolphins resonate to a higher frequency. It is for this reason that none of us have been able to talk to the dolphins. There was a time I know, when my grandmother was with me, that I could, but now I seem to have lost the ability."

It was getting late and Wendy was getting tired and the male attendants showed Wendy to her bedroom in one of the crystal buildings near the temple. That night Wendy dreamed of the dolphins and whales. She was certain that they contained the key to her return to her world.

The next day, in the morning, the high priestess showed Wendy the place where the dolphins kept the crystals. As they stood by the ocean, a dolphin poke his head out of the water and giving its high pitched clicking sound.

Surprisingly, in her emotions, Wendy could hear what the dolphin was saying! Back at the world from which she came, this was not true, but here she could. Clearly it must have had something to do to with her travel through time. It must have raised her vibrations to that of the dolphin.

She could feel the communication from her heart rather than diffused in her stomach and she remembered how Gurdjieff had often lamented the fact that pure emotion, which must always be heart-centered like the paintings portraying spiritual beings with a glowing heart, had somehow become diffused into mankind's stomach.

The high priestess was amazed when Wendy asked the dolphin for a crystal and the dolphin dived down returning with a small crystal in its mouth. Wendy reached out and took the crystal. At the moment she held the crystal in her hand, she knew the emotion. She gave the crystal back to the dolphin and touched its head. The dolphin disappeared then reappeared with another crystal.

Wendy spent all day at this crystal library. The emotions were as wonderful as what one could imagine heaven to be. All the hopes and dreams of humanity existed here.

When Wendy returned from the ocean, many of the inhabitants of Atlantis started to gather around her. Remembering how long it had been since a dolphin had given a crystal to any human, they stood around Wendy as, in the New Testament, the multitudes of people had stood around Jesus when he walked on the earth. They listened carefully to her every word, for they knew that Wendy had a pure heart. From that day forward they treated Wendy like a goddess.

Wendy soon became aware of the fact that there was much emotional suffering in Atlantis and it was difficult to get past their smiles to their real essences. Wendy's empathic nature helped her to access their real feelings. Apparently most of the men and women had become so trapped in the emotional pain of their past that they were unable to cope with their present lives.

When one receives a cut or a scrape on the body, in time it is healed; but emotional wounds tend to stay only because of the mistaken belief that feelings are the most important force inside, when really it is thoughts that should rule. The thoughts mistakenly replay the bad emotional memories, when the thoughts should be thinking new thoughts, not dwelling in the past but projecting forward into the future.

In Wendy's present, unfortunately, there are so many people without consciences, that to escape emotional scars requires a tremendous amount of luck.

Thoughts are of the next vibration 'mi' and they are higher than the feelings that exist in this vibration 're'. Thoughts can heal the feelings if they are aligned to spirit. When feelings incorrectly predominate then emotional memories tend to evoke thoughts of self-regret. Such thoughts are destructive. Self-regret can be resolved in the knowledge that the spirit body inside a person remains pure.

Feelings arise as sensations from the physical body, but true emotions arise from spirit. A sunset can evoke joy or sadness in an individual who is centered on his or her material feelings and thoughts, but, to a person centered in spirit, a sunset is always joy.

Sensing the vulnerability of the Atlanteans to emotional pain, Wendy taught them the messages of the crystals about the beauty of spirit. The moon and the stars, she explained to them, can bathe you in pure white light. No one can reach the spirit world without suffering. The point is that like the pain of childbirth, you can stay with the pain of giving birth or feel the joy of your new spirit self, your spirit body.

It is a mistake to straddle the fence between society's version of happiness and the fullness of spirit. Society is an empty place covered with shadows. Society is an easy place to hide, but eventually you will die. Instead seek your spirit for it is the kingdom of heaven that, as Jesus said, is greater than all riches and worldly achievements.

One of the key concepts that Wendy learned from the crystals was that of innocence. Since the cells in our bodies rebuild themselves constantly from an invisible blueprint of DNA, we are always innocent. It is our brain, in trying to hold on to our separate egos, that passes on brain cell memory to the new brain cells. Some of this memory is important for existence, but some of it is just dirt.

Our brains love to constantly rehash both our triumphs and failures. The nostalgia disease: first love, first song, first kiss, first candlelight dinner is as bad as remembering all the traumatic incidents in your life.

The crystals urged that we must accept the fact that we are all connected by God and not by heredity or acquaintance, that we must teach our brains to stop convincing us that we are the same person that we were a year ago, and that, instead of relying on death to free us from the sins of mankind, we should live in innocence our whole lives. After all is not this daily 'baptism' easier than reincarnation?

Wendy spoke to many Atlanteans and showed them how to use the dolphins for physical healing and the whales for spiritual healing. The crystals emphasized the importance of not 'stealing' other's emotions and believing that they are your own. For the crystals warned that you must be true to yourself so that your spirit can be built on a foundation of emotion. This is why Moses commanded 'Thou shalt not steal.'

Wendy was pleased to be of help to the Atlanteans, but in time she felt that she had succeeded in passing on the messages of the crystals and wished to go home again. She said farewell to her dear friends and went down to the sea.

She called to the dolphins and the whales who would come up and rub their backs on the rock on which she was sitting. She could feel that they were all sympathetic to her wish to return. Wendy stayed there for four days and nights in a silent vision quest.

In her dreamtime Wendy could see Dylan faintly standing in front of her. The whales had reminded her of the power of song to create an emotional awareness that would allow true thought to occur.

Since the next vibration was of thought, she knew that song was the key. She began to sing the song she had written with Dylan:

She began to move away from the island toward Dylan. Across the water she floated, at first standing with her feet barely touching the tops of the waves, then higher and higher, having only her love for Dylan as a guide. Looking back for a minute at Atlantis disappearing behind her she recalled that it looked very much like Blakely Island looked from the ferry.

Thoughts are the balancing force between feelings and the physical body. In evolution you can see the growth of life first in its physical state as in a tree and then in moving creatures which become progressively better at using feelings to survive. Finally there are humans who have the ability that can be summed up in the words of Kant as 'I think, therefore I am'.

A deer sees you walk by and freezes for a moment to watch and listen to you. The deer is controlled by its freeze or flight feelings. A bald eagle glides overhead and watches you from above. For a moment you wonder if it is considering you as a meal, but then you can sense how with its sharp vision it has merely brushed you off as an annoyance. The eagle's feelings perhaps are higher than a deer, but it is still, like the deer, ruled by feelings.

Humans are the only creatures that have the ability to think thoughts that are untainted by body or feelings. Stabilizing force ('mi'), thought, is created in the joining of original force ('do'), body, and opposite force ('re'), feelings. This formula can be expressed as:

Because pure thought is the balance between feelings and body, humans have the ability to react to situations in totally new ways than animals can. Rather than acting from instinctive knowledge triggered by feelings or body as animals do, humans can reason out a solution. Not only that, but after the action, a human can then judge whether the course of action taken was correct and, if it was not correct, a human can remember how to use a different course of action under similar circumstances.

It is this same working of the Law of Three which created the opportunity for Dylan at original force ('do') and Wendy at opposite force ('re') to join together at the place of stabilizing force ('mi') within the Law of Seven.

Being careful to retain their concentration, both Dylan and Wendy began to sense that they were getting closer to each other.

Concentration is like a cat holding itself posed to jump. If you do not do anything with this directed energy, there is no point to it and it quickly lapses into daydreaming. Concentration is not impartial observation, as some fourth way schools would lead you to believe. Concentration is merely the match that can light the flame of thought and just as it can for feelings or sexual energy.

Of these three forces: physical, feelings, and thought; it is thought that can last the longest because, being the stabilizing force, it can create new energy according to the Law of Three and, rather than the other two that quickly get depleted. In addition, the energy given back by thought is exponentially greater than the energy used.

Like twin spirits that jump back into the vortex of life on earth to be born again, where seconds can turn to years, Dylan and Wendy could feel their spirits connect. Like the search on earth as each spirit makes decisions at the individual crossroads of life that help to slowly move the two closer and closer together.

Suddenly they were hugging each other with tears of joy in their eyes. They could not believe that they were together again! Their spirits were so inseparable that it had been difficult to be separated not only by space, but also by time.

Now that they were together, Wendy and Dylan felt certain that it would be possible to return to their world. Clearly finding each other in the next vibration had a relationship to the Law of Seven. Since they had succeeded in moving through time and space, there was a good possibility that they could return again to their present. Also it seemed clear that they were moving forward through the seven vibrations.

As Wendy and Dylan looked out at the world in which they had arrived, standing embraced in each other's arms, they saw a world very similar to the world in which they lived, but it clearly had a futuristic look. The spirit connection of Wendy and Dylan, which had brought them together at this point, was so powerful that instead of returning to some time in the past it had actually propelled them into the future. What a strange future it was!

So many books have been written on the subject of the future and yet not one of them has taken into account the fact that everything in the world strives for the lowest common denominator. In spite of these technological glass bubbles with artificial environments and flying cars, this world had an unmistakably ordinary look. There have been visions of the future about technology taking over or about people reverting to nature because the world was destroyed, but this world that Dylan and Wendy found themselves in was absolutely boring!

They remembered the Charlie Chaplin movie: Modern Times for this world seemed very much like that. All the people seemed very much like ants going about their business with no consciousness of whom they were and everyone looked alike. They were perfect specimens of humans. The men were muscular with not a trace of a fat stomach. The women were skinny with huge breasts. Computers and robots catered to their every whim.

Dylan and Wendy began to sing the songs they had written based on Chaplin's Modern Times:

Genetic engineering had eliminated poverty by eliminating people. It was not genocide, but merely a money-driven Darwinian evolution. Ultimately it was money that decided who could have children and who would govern. Democracy, being nothing more than capitalism in disguise, had created a world of equal money by eliminating the poor and the middle class. In normal situations, life is filled with unpredictable events, but predictability is really what people strive for. Since technology was able to give people predictability, all people have striven to obtain it. Since the price of technology was higher than people of ordinary means could afford, they soon died out.

Theories of the expanding universe may search desperately for enough matter and energy that could eventually collapse the universe back, but there is no such thing. If such a thing existed, people's bodies could be born and reborn, but this is not possible. The mummies of the pharaohs and Mayan kings are the proof that reincarnation of the body is impossible. Only the spirit can reincarnate. Matter always strives in the opposite direction of life. It strives to become nothing.

The people of this future were happy and fulfilled on the surface, but without conflict in their lives there was no possibility of inner growth. Although having a kinship with these people because of their common roots, Wendy and Dylan felt like aliens from another planet. Someone offered Wendy some computer glasses and inside was a magical inner-directed adventure world. There was no need for sleep for the brain could conjure up images that could rival any dream. Another person showed Dylan a metal device that could be placed on the head that could simulate any dessert by acting directly on their taste buds.

Rather than feeling contentment, Wendy and Dylan grew increasingly uneasy. Abruptly, Wendy grabbed Dylan's hand, threw down the glasses, and rushed quickly into a park containing a series of equally aligned trees of all the same height. Above them there were no sun and no stars, just a dome on which were projected all sorts of images of scenery that once existed.

Wendy said, "I heard that the Aquarian age was the age of information and technology, but I never dreamed that it would be like this!"

"Clearly this place is our future," said Dylan, "for it has all the markings of excessive thought. Only thought in the absence of emotion and physical reality is capable of such a world of sameness. Thought arises from feelings which arise from body. It is the ultimate place that life can achieve in its evolution from solid lifeless matter that in itself devolved from nothing. The problem is that life is meant to evolve into spirit and soul to serve as the stabilizing force of the universe to act as the balance between matter and life.

This formula is:

( -matter  +life   =knowledge).

In this place, clearly, life never did evolve further."

"We must find a way out of here," Wendy said, "tell me again the Hermetic law that makes new creation possible."

Dylan answered, "I think I remember it perfectly: 'Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has a pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.'"

"There! That is the principle by which we can get out of this place!" said Wendy. "Do you think we would be able to correctly apply the principles of original force, opposite force, and stabilizing force to create a new world that can rescue us from this same world?"

"This was the principle of Genesis," replied Dylan. "'God made the firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament from the waters that were above the firmament ... And God called the firmament Heaven.' The waters below are original force (body); those waters above are opposite force (feelings); the firmament is stabilizing force (thoughts). Stabilizing force is called Heaven because thought is the path to spirit which leads to Heaven."

"And yet I'm not sure that it is possible," Wendy said, " for the physical world has certain requirements that must be fulfilled for spirit to become manifest on the physical plane. The virgin birth is possible only in the world of spirit. Physical realities require a physical cause."

"What we must have is pure thought," Dylan said, "Many think that thought is present in a conversation with someone, but this is not thought. This type of thought is just a reaction by association. For instance, one person says, 'I like the color orange.' And the other person replies, 'I love the way oranges taste.' And so it goes from name association to name association. This is just conversation. True thought is more than that."

"Yes," said Wendy, "True thought requires a central question that must be reasoned upon, for instance the Zen koan dealing with 'the sound of one hand clapping', but it need not be a riddle. Thought could be finding the answer to the beginning of all life by using ones own life as a model."

"As easy as it is to exercise pure thought," Dylan said, "it still takes some initial energy. Unfortunately humans are lazy and rather than use their minds they let others use them. That small amount of energy turns out to be too much because humans enjoy being lazy and the mind loves to daydream."

"That is true," said Wendy, "Almost all of the spiritual writings refer to the importance of purity of mind, feelings, and body. Speech comes from the mind. This is why Buddha emphasizes 'Right Speech' and the Essenes emphasize the importance of work on all centers in the 'Angel of Work.' The fantasies of the mind are what enslaves a person to the desires of the world."

"Humans have devised all sorts of methods to access that new energy that comes with the next vibration 'fa'," said Dylan, "such as climbing a mountain, skiing, breathing exercises, smoking cigarettes, yoga, chanting, drugs, sex, rituals, attending church, music, dance, and so many other methods, many of which are harmful to others, let alone yourself. The problem with these methods is that there is little control over their result. Ultimately if your body is tired or you are in emotional pain, there is no method that will work except pure thought."

"I am reminded of the commandment of Moses: 'Thou shalt not commit adultery.'" said Wendy. "Adultery is more than just sexual desire. It is, as Jesus said, that it is enough to think of adultery to make it a sin. Thoughts must not be ruled by physical feelings or desires of the body for such thoughts are of no value to spiritual growth. Jesus speaks of this in the Beatitude 'Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.' Actually this would be more precise if it was: 'Blessed are the pure in thought: for they shall see God' for it is thoughts that are more important as Jesus presented in other passages in the 'Sermon on the Mount'"

"Let us try to review how life evolved into this terrible state," said Wendy. "I think it would help if we draw a circle around us on the ground, and, at the same time, we sit next to each other connecting our naked bodies to the earth, our feelings to natural world, and our thoughts to God. This will increase our sexual energy to help us bridge the discontinuity of vibration from vibration 'mi' to vibration 'fa'."

"Since the next vibration is spirit, I hope we do not have to die to reach the next plane and yet to die in this bliss in your arms, is to die fulfilled!" Dylan giving Wendy a hug.

Wendy chided him, "Do not forget chastity was the vehicle for many religious sects and it is close to the truth. Chastity keeps the mind from fantasy and the sexual energies harnessed to the feeding of the spirit body. Thoughts balanced with feelings and body create this sexual energy. Some call it love, but the definition of spiritual love is closer to the love expressed to all God's creatures, reminiscent of the picture of St. Francis of Assisi with the birds around him. The new being within, which is created by transference upward of sexual energy, is your spirit body."

Dylan repeated these words like a chant, "Sexual energy balance the moving and instinctive functions of our bodies. Feelings guide our bodies. Thought guide our feelings. Body, feelings, and thought balance us to bridge the discontinuity between 'mi' and 'fa'. Consciousness be present as our body, feelings, and thought are balanced. Consciousness bring us to spirit."

With their minds fully energized, Wendy repeated these words: "There are no lessons to be learned on the material plane for karmic resolution is for the spirit. We long for spirit, for pure spirit is immune to the physical sphere. 'There is no place like home' for 'home' resides in spirit."

Holding on to these thoughts, with consciousness and conscience fully awake, Wendy and Dylan, with the ease of a feather lifted up by the wind, left the barren world behind. Slowly the landscape below resolved into the treed island of Decatur, then disappeared below them.

Is it not strange that so many people believe that they have been other historical characters like King Arthur, Guinevere, Jesus, Mary, Joan of Arc and the list goes on; channelers conjure up words from all sorts of spiritual beings; today's artists seem to be able to paint pictures like the great masters. The answer to this paradox comes from the world of spirits.

The vibration 'fa' is the vibration at which spiritual growth begins. Ordinary physical existence remains in the realm of the lower octave 'do', 're' and 'mi' since it cannot pass from 'mi' to 'fa' without an extra boost. This is due to a change in the vibration ratios between 'mi' to 'fa' which in just intonation is a slowing down of vibration.

There stood Wendy and Dylan having passed through the realm of physical death as they had done many times in past lives. The difference this time is that, due to the strange time vortex that they were in, they still possessed a connection to the earth. This connection was similar to the connection that Jesus had to his disciples through the Last Supper sacrament. The time vortex still held them like the blood of Jesus had connected him to the disciples after his death.

All spirits that are formed on the earth are still present in its atmosphere and will exist as long as the earth exists. When a human builds its own spirit body by passing from the vibration 'mi' to the vibration 'fa', the spirit thus formed can then connect to any other spirit by sympathetic vibration. This is how one can truly know of a spirit that once lived upon the earth.

By connecting with Jesus, you could take a pen and delete all the words in the New Testament that he did not say. You could connect with the Virgin Mary and learn how her faith turned rape into immaculate conception. You could connect with Isis and find out the black arts she used to raise Osiris from the dead that resulted in the conception of Horus. You could connect with Gurdjieff and find out what he truly thought of his American followers that hung around his deathbed.

Edgar Cayce referred to these patterns as Akashic Records. Cayce uses the term 'soul', but he should have used the word: spirit, since souls are built of elements beyond the earth and are not tied to the earth as spirits are. It is impossible to access Jesus' soul; it is only possible to access his spirit, i.e. the Holy Spirit. Only for a short time was the soul of Jesus connected to his spirit by means of the sacrament that was performed with the disciples. Holy Communion can only, at its best, connect with the spirit of Jesus, not his soul.

A spirit is built from higher emotion; a soul is built from higher thought. This means that access to a spirit reveals emotion only. This is the problem with channeling for it connects only with spirit. It is easy for emotions to get distorted by thoughts and, contrary to belief, the only thoughts that can be accessed by channeling are emotional thoughts. This is why channeling tapes make no sense when played back. Assuming that they are not tainted by the channeler's thoughts, the words spoken are emotions in words and to think about them makes no sense except to emotions.

The principle of sympathetic vibrations is also the reason that it is possible for certain people to become the spirit of Jesus, but such a connection can only express the feelings of Jesus, not his thoughts. This is the key. Thus comes the theory of Jesus' mission being accomplished by more than one person, some who continue to return, but the knowledge of Jesus resides in Jesus' soul. These people of whom, Dylan was once told by a psychic to be one, as Wendy was told that she was Mary, can only be of the spirit and therefore not of the soul of Jesus or Mary. The difference may seem hard to understand, but it is important to understand. It is possible to be the Holy Spirit, but impossible to be Jesus.

Taking this a step further, Jesus is no longer Jesus, since his soul, having merged with God, is God. In John 14:11,12 Jesus says, 'Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.'

If you build a soul, you can join with God as Jesus did. A soul cannot be born within except by means of a spirit and it cannot join to God without a crucifixion (death of body) and ascension (death of spirit).

Wendy and Dylan were overwhelmed with emotions in this place above the earth. They could see below them shadowy forms surrounding the earth. This layer of half-formed spirits are the ghosts that can enter into others in order to fulfill their desires which they still possess. Their energy is evil and dark.

The evil spirits were the walking dead on earth. They can be known by their lifeless eyes. You can even see a young child's eyes change from light to dark as the child grows in an abusive home. Though the body still grows, the child's inner growth ends. It is such a terrible sight to see! Fortunately this does not happen to all children, but there are many walking dead in this world.

The greatest asset of these walking dead is their one hundred per cent inner conviction that the claptrap which they speak is the truth. Those people who know of spirit are always questioning because questioning leads to growth. Thus it is easier for people to believe the lies of these walking dead because they are told with complete conviction. Truth is always relative because it comes from conscience. Conscience is an eternal balance that gets more and more complex as one grows spiritually. For instance, to comfort a person may have seemed right to you once, but maybe now you see that this person is trapped in their martyrdom and instead needs to be ignored. Lies, on the other hand, are absolute for they come from lack of conscience. That is the trick, we think that these liars have consciences because we have consciences. We even believe that we should not execute them because we have consciences, so even in this they win.

Below these light and dark spirit realms is the realm of the human beings on earth who for the most part do not even have spirits, their good and evil dies with them. One could consider existence on earth as Hell. Purgatory is that place between Heaven and Hell where beings who have formed a complete spirit can form a soul also that can enter into Heaven.

"It would almost seem that if we think evil thoughts, then by becoming heavier, we could descend back to earth and return back to the ferry," Dylan said.

"Absolutely not!" Wendy replied, "These forms, though they have some existence, are really dead. It would be just like suicide. We would be caught there forever. These beings are almost completely negative emotion. These were the spirits that could not separate their own desires from the concept of good. By incorrectly equating their own good with universal good, they used their spirit powers for selfish ends. They can only latch onto to you through your sympathetic thoughts. Voodoo dolls and witches 'image magic' are merely facilitators that can connect by thought the power of evil to your spirit. They have no power over you if you do not think of them."

"Yes, you are right!" said Dylan. "Let us ignore them and give them no power. Let us think of pure spirit instead."

It is no wonder that every spiritual saying about the growth of spirit at vibration 'fa' talks of the need to avoid this wrong equation of selfishness. Instead you are asked to forgive:

'In the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil' (Psalm 23);

'And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.' (Lord's Prayer);

'Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.' (Beatitudes);

'Right Action' (Eightfold Path);

'Angel of Love' (Essene day);

'Thou shalt not kill' (Ten Commandments)."

Wendy added, "The world of spirits is a world where, as Jesus says, the tares that were sown by the Evil One are separated from the wheat. The evil being heavier floats just above the earth, but above that is the good. The good spirits are the light at the end of the tunnel after death."

Dylan continued, "Gurdjieff also values the vibration 'fa' as the critical starting point of spirit. Consciousness which requires body, feelings, and thoughts to be balanced equally brings impartiality to self which leads to forgiveness. For just as life began on earth in the Genesis creation: 'the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself,' so it is that the human body can create spirit different and immune from the material emptiness and despair."

Following Wendy's advice, Dylan and Wendy stopped being drawn down to the smog-like world of evil spirits, that try to draw you down when you open your thoughts to them, and moved upward to the good spirits.

Like Noah's ark, they could ride above the sea below where below them all the evil spirits were drowned in the forty days and forty nights rain. To center themselves, they sang the song on the next page:

So many familiar spirit bodies existed within this realm above. Wendy could not resist giving a hug to Vincent VanGogh. Dylan drank some cognac with Gurdjieff. There were elves and fairies, mermaids, eagle spirits, buffalo spirits, and all beautiful things that were of spirit upon the earth.

In the natural course of events a spirit will become part of the ocean of spirits that surround this planet in the refracted sunlit blue sky that exists above the smog spirits. These spirits are often seen in clouds. Whether a spirit has a future impact on others is determined by the spiritual growth of that spirit therefore its contribution. Some spirits become reabsorbed into the ocean because they are mere copies of the ocean.

These spirit bodies live beyond death for as long as the earth exists. It is possible to connect to a spirit at any time through sympathetic vibrations, but to bring a spirit back into human form that is visible to others requires a special sacrament. This possibility must be accomplished traditionally through a blood connection and will only last a few months. Other bodily fluids can be used for instance semen which was used by Isis to bring back Osiris. The key to this sacrament is that it must be accomplished before death when the spirit is still connected. When Jesus and the apostles used this sacrament (Holy Communion), it became unfortunately a justification for saying that Jesus was actually God. Although metaphorically correct, when this event is taken as fact, it limits other humans to be able to attain to his spiritual development.

There are many other accounts of the use of this sacrament in the Bible besides the appearances of Jesus. There are Elijah and Elisha; Shadrach, Mizack, and Abegnigo alive in the flames; Daniel in the lion's den, the raising of Lazarus, and Peter's imprisonment.

Peter's imprisonment (and execution) is a very telling account of this sacrament: Acts 12: 12-17 '...many were gathered together praying. And Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate (deleted: 'for gladness,' added later to make sense of the story to those not informed), but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. Then said they, It is his angel. And he (Peter) said go show these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.' Since Peter is never mentioned again, it seems to imply that he was dead and that this was just his spirit.

(It should be noted that all these deaths can be explained by means of the pesher in the later books of the author of this book.)

It was the use of this sacrament that Wendy and Dylan were considering to maintain their connection with their physical entities on earth.

"Let us suppose," said Dylan, "that we still have a connection to ourselves on the ferry before we were thrown into the vortex of time. This connection could be similar to the blood sacrament. If we continue to feed this connection with our spirit energy perhaps, we can re-manifest ourselves back to our own time. It might be something like the choices we made for our current lives, in reverse."

"Speaking of choices," said Wendy, "I'm not sure I think much of your current karmic choice of lifetime. I would have preferred to laze out in the clouds much longer before being born. Instead you made me jump in after you without even time to analyze why I should."

"Guess we just love each other too much," said Dylan.

"Now it's your turn to follow me," Wendy said. "I've done this in dreams many times before. After all, Hermes said, 'Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.' Just as God's created life so can spirit return to the Creator. Matter moves away from the Creator, but life returns to the Creator. You must think joyous thoughts."

"Always carrying your sparkle dust from Peter Pan, aren't you," Dylan said.

Wendy and Dylan held each other's hands, like Jesus and Mary merged in Beauty, the position Tiphareth in the Kabbalah. Their memory flashed back to their wedding. How the lightening flashed as they stepped bare foot into a bowl of water and were married by a priest as huge drops of water fell from his umbrella onto his book.

Traveling in astral projection, below them they could see Kes also standing at the position Kether (Heaven) in a crop circle below shaped like the Kabbalah while a space ship was landing. Wendy and Dylan disappeared into the next vibration.

Wendy and Dylan reached out to each other as they floated like astronauts above the earth. They could see the beautiful symbols drawn for the spirit world in Peru and the lines of energy connecting Stonehenge with Avebury. As they walked on the air as if on clouds, they could see the angels shining with light.

This place was full of energy. It was after all filled with the energy of those who had achieved great things on earth. Just as feelings at vibration 're' created thought at vibration 'mi', so does the spirit body which begins at this vibration 'fa' complete the spirit at vibration 'sol'. They were fully completed spirits. Poetry and song filled the air. Paintings were suspended in midair. Angels appeared and disappeared carrying greetings from God. All these completed spirit bodies shared a deep emotional connection.

Many were seated at a table. A table not unlike what they had seen in the pictures of an abbey on Shaw Island. Bread and wine were passed around the table. Like the Celtic festival of Lammas, which was based on the Last Supper and Passover, bread symbolized the spiritual food which is supplied by angels. Just as the mother-father principle nurtures and provides for a child, so do the angels nurture and provide for these spirits.

Just like the physical body, the spirit needs food to live. Though the Hebrew people survived the desert by eating manna, Moses saw a greater significance: 'This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.'(Exodus 16:15). There are many other references to spiritual food:

In the Twenty-Third Psalm it says 'Thou prepareth a table before me',

in the Lord's Prayer it says 'Give us this day our daily bread', and in the Beatitudes it says 'Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.'

Buddha taught his followers: 'Right Living' which required his followers to beg for crusts of bread while they fought the grasping qualities of physical nature

and the Essenes honored the 'Angel of Life.'

This bread of spirit is often overlooked and yet every religion recognizes the need for spiritual nourishment. This is the food that is reached in the daily prayers of Islam or by the chanting of Tibetan Buddhism. In the Christian and Jewish religion people go to church or temple every Sunday or Sabbath to be filled by the spirit food. Although it is essential to feed the spirit every day, every week is better than not at all. Without this spirit food, it is easy to forget the energy within us that knows that God exists and that spirit is joy.

When the spirit body is weak, it is easily overpowered by the physical body. Only when you die, can the spirit soar on its own. Even after death the spirit body, having been built by energies within the solar system, is more fragile and will eventually be reabsorbed into the ocean of spirits. Only the soul, having been built by energies from the stars, can survive forever.

When a spirit is nourished, there is so much joy. Everything seems so right. You expect this state to continue, but your physical body tires and you fall asleep. In the morning, it seems no more real than a dream. If you let the stresses of the day take control of you, then instead of having a nourished spirit, you have at the end of the day just a feeling of emptiness, not even enough energy to be revitalized by your favorite TV show. So you go to bed, forgetting the day before, and, feeling nothing more than a feeling of nostalgia, you hear your favorite song on the radio by Paul McCartney, 'Oh, I believe in yesterday.'

This is the mistake, unless you actively seek the nourishment of spirit, you will not feel that energy again, until some accidental event like your team winning the World Series or a fun night on the town with your lover reminds you again that there is a spirit inside you.

In this society, spirit values have been replaced by material objects such as: diamonds for love, ocean cruises for adventure, fancy clothes to feel good about yourself, expensive restaurants instead of relationships, television instead of connecting to one's inner self, etc. These objects may sometimes help you to gain the spirit energy, but this energy can only come from within. Material objects of spirit cannot give you the spirit energy, unless you know the inner formula, these objects can easily leave you empty, sort of like the expression: 'Leave me alone; I'm in a bad mood.'

In Hermes' Kybalion, he gives a clue to this inner formula: 'Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to Law; chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many places of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.' This is the same statement as Ecclesiastes (1:2,3,9): 'Vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun? The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.' Suffering is the only way to the joy of spirit, for the joy of spirit cannot be tied to any physical joy.

There has to come a time when you uncover that subtle magician of the physical world and learn the true secret of its magic: that rabbits and doves do not appear out of thin air, it is all an illusion. Once you know the secret, the magic trick has lost its power, and there is no turning back. Once you have tasted the joy of spirit, there is nothing in the physical world that can give you joy.

The vibration 'sol' is the point of completion of the vibration begun from 'fa' and is the place where spirit is completed. The vibration 'sol' is the place where the third force of the Law of Three enters, namely the stabilizing force. This force is the balance being original force and opposite force and when in equal balance resolves into one. The completion of this vibration state balanced equally with 'fa' and ('mi'-'re'-'do') is the spirit (astral body or Kesdjanian body as in Gurdjieff's book).

Here in vibration 'sol', you might think that all the visions of heaven had been realized, but then you ask yourself whether 'streets of gold, harps, trumpets, and angel wings' would be enough. What a strange concept to climb a mountain that few people ever reach the top of, only to find another mountain, the beginning of soul at vibration 'la'.

However, if you look carefully, you will see that these two mountains are connected by a ridge. This is because 'sol' and 'la' do not have the discontinuity of vibration that exists between 'mi' and 'fa', the passage from spirit to soul is easier than the passage from body to spirit. Instead, the passage from 'sol' to 'la' is controlled in the enneagram by the passage from 'ti' to higher 'do' which means that it is controlled not by your own actions as with the growth of spirit, but rather by 'the will of God'. This is the esoteric meaning behind the Commandment 'Honour thy father and mother', it is God, your Father/Mother, that you must honor.

As Wendy and Dylan sat down, they knew that they had been seated at this table before; when past and future joined for a moment in time before rebirth; when rather than proceeding to the realm of souls, they had returned once again, as many others do, to be spirit helpers. Some may think that it is an easy job to return, but every time it is like groping around in the dark.

Physical form constantly drags you down. It is hard to remember what you once knew and even harder to understand what it is about life that seems to be so fulfilling in people's empty lives. It is a lonely existence, very much as if you are a visitor from another planet. If it were not for the brief visits from the angels, life in physical form would be too difficult.

Wendy and Dylan could remember their song about angels so clearly:

This time they felt that it was imperative that they figure out how to advance to the creation of soul at vibration 'la' for it seemed that the magnetic disturbance could only be overcome by advancing correctly to the next higher vibration 'la'.

What was most disconcerting about this place was to see some spirits that were mere shells of themselves, for as souls advance to the next level, they leave behind their spirits. This is similar to physical bodies upon death that are just shells of the spirit that once existed within. Just as the body is the temple of the spirit so is the spirit the temple of the soul. A spirit is not freed until the body dies, but a soul being connected to the Creator feels secure enough to leave the spirit before the death of its spirit.

Many of these spirit shells where showing signs of age. Although emotionally they were as the individuals who once inhabited these spirits, there was a definite feeling of finality in their presence. These spirits were like the memory of a past love, once so complete and fulfilling, but now just a memory and, at the best, just another friend.

Before Wendy and Dylan was the supreme test. It is a test that is faced by all spirits, for to advance to the next vibration requires dying to spirit. Since it is almost impossible to conceive of life without emotion, for even love seems to be an emotion, to give up one's emotional self seems like reducing oneself to nothing. Not only must one be born again of spirit, but, also, to be born again of soul.

"Well then," said Dylan, "how can we go forward? We would need a spaceship like that of Angel Hariton in Gurdjieff's book or to be a Sphinx with the body of a lion and the wings of an eagle."

"Remember," said Wendy, "'God created great whales and every living thing that moveth', telling them 'Be fruitful and multiply.' I believe that it is the whales that can help us for they were the leaders of the abundance of life, the abundance that was so profuse that it pushed creation into the next step, namely mankind. In a similar manner, the whale spirits can help us to accumulate our own spirit energies that by volume will push us from the realm spirit into the realm of soul. Whales are bringers of intuition, for traveling from the safety of emotions to thought requires a leap of faith."

"That is the mistake of most people that have obtained a spirit," said Dylan, "that, just because spirit is higher than the physical body, they tend to believe that spirit is the highest goal. Thoughts, although capable of sending a man to the moon, are often considered to be empty compared to the powerful emotions of spirit. Remember in the 60's when all our friends were smoking marijuana, everyone seemed to just want to get high and the more stoned they were the better that they liked it. We both had that in common that we always liked the marijuana that was too weak, for it allowed for clarity of thought which seemed to transcend the ordinary. So it is with the emotions of spirit, many think that is all they ever want and never look higher to thought realm of soul. That is the importance of intuition."

"I have always believed," said Wendy, "that there is a reason why one is placed on the earth. One must be forever vigilant to find one's own personal path. It is presented at many crossroads. Only you can know what choice you must make. A bad choice for body or spirit could actually be a good choice for soul."

"Yes, the energy of soul," said Dylan, "is more like self-sacrifice than of thought. It is what Jesus meant to show in his life. He could have walked away from his death, but he faced it head-on knowing that there was a higher purpose. Everyone has a higher purpose. They have only to find it."

"When I look up at the stars," said Wendy, "it is impossible not to believe that there is a higher purpose. As I wish upon the first star, I know that in all those billions of stars, there must exist billions of possibilities. This is the wish I am wishing now."

Wendy and Dylan walked toward the light that seemed to reflect upon the currents of air like the full moon upon the sea. Stepping onto the golden pathway across the waves, they walked on the water as Jesus did as he walked to the disciples, but now they walked toward an unknown goal. On each side of them swam huge whales that would dive periodically then rise again with great blowing sounds as water was expelled into the air. Dylan, remembering the origin of his name from the yellow-haired boy, Dylan, half man, half fish, in the Welsh Mabinogion, wondered if the ancestor of the Orca whale, Dylan, was out there, too.

As they neared the end of the golden pathway the waters churned waters and ended in a giant whirlpool. Trying to control the overriding feeling to return to the shore Wendy and Dylan clasped each other's hands tightly.

"We must have faith!" Wendy shouted.

"Yes!" Dylan answered.

Just then they were both released by the gravitation pull of the planetary forces and instead of falling into the churning nebulous abyss of the solar system, they were suddenly hurtling toward the sun, going faster and faster.

Below them, as they raced toward the sun, the island of Shaw seemed to fade away and then San Juan Island appeared long enough to see a house with a second story turret on the Eagle Cove coast that would one day be their home. When they were married, Dylan had promised Wendy a castle off the coast of Wales where the puffins would come and sleep. Being next to little England (Victoria) with whales instead of Wales and puffins living across the Straits of Juan de Fuca, they knew that all wishes, if followed faithfully, can come true. Now they must leave it all behind. As they looked below, they thought that they could just see Nirvana riding on a whale's back.

Like an uncontrolled roller-coaster Wendy and Dylan raced into the sun. It grew hotter and hotter, but as they reached out to that part of the corona that is visible during an eclipse, it began to cool down. It became clear to them that they were not moving through space, but rather into a different spiritual realm. The sun according to physics had to be composed of hot gases, but now it was a cool twinkling light like a bright star in the night sky.

"This sun must be what Gurdjieff called the Holy Sun Absolute, the center of everything existing! This is why Beelzebub laughed at the people of the earth for believing that the sun was a hot ball of gas," exclaimed Dylan.

"Yes, this is certainly the place of soul growth," said Wendy, "for I feel that everything has changed at this vibration. There is great sense of peace here."

The vibration 'la' is the beginning of man's soul. It requires giving up not only the body, but also spirit because spirit, although free from body, is still tied to the earth as a planet. A soul must be built from God and therefore must be pure. This vibration 'la' exists as opposite force to 'sol'-'fa'-('mi', 're', 'do') as original force. Since spirit is complete at vibration 'sol', the soul cannot exist without the spirit until it passes to vibration 'ti' when the soul will be complete. This implies that physical death will not stop the growth of soul if a spirit is present as long as there is a wish to develop further.

"But we must remember that this is the place of thought at vibration 'la' and we must be careful not to let our emotions have too much power," said Dylan, "The Essenes called this the 'Angel of Wisdom' and Hermes stated that 'The All is mind; The universe is mental."

"This soul vibration is clearly very different from spirit," said Wendy, "It is as different as the creation of the first human being is to the rest of God's creation. For as 'God said, Let us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth,' so are we meant to have dominion over all of creation, to assist in caring for that creation, and to learn to be as God in His/Her image."

"This place reminds me of how, when I was a little boy," said Dylan, "I would always draw comfort from The Twenty-Third Psalm. I would say aloud, 'He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.' I did not really understand its true significance until now. The 'valley of the shadow of death' is not, as one thinks, the threat of physical death, but, rather, the 'valley of shadows' means what it meant to Greek mythology namely the spirit world."

"Not only does it imply a passage beyond physical death and the world of spirit," said Wendy, "but it also tells of a Shepherd who will guide you. Clearly this guidance is not optional, but required. The Pharaohs also had similar symbols, the flail and crook, which they held in death, the flail was used to judge the soul and the crook was for guidance. A spirit is as different from God, as a sheep is to a human and therefore must be guided or be lost forever."

"This death of spirit must be similar to falling down a black hole like we wrote about in our song, Mantra," Wendy said.

Wendy and Dylan started to sing the song:

Without their spirit bodies to which they had grown so accustomed to, Wendy and Dylan felt a little unsure of themselves in this place of soul, but the message in their song had put them at ease. Thought energy brings contentment and peace that is far more fulfilling and durable than even the deepest emotion of the spirit.

"As in the Beatitude," Wendy continued, "'Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted', it is clear that the death of the spirit body is required for God to be connected to you."

"Certainly no one can ever reach this place without work correctly applied as in Buddha's 'Right Effort'," said Dylan, "Even the commandment of Moses requires more than avoiding a curse word: 'Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.' Clearly the soul is built from God not man and God can never be diluted into the physical or emotional realm. It is no wonder that God cannot grant you a win at the lottery or even consecrate your marriage. God must remain pure. As long as you exist in a physical body or a spirit, you must reach to God, God cannot reach to you. All this changes when you have a soul, for then God will reach to you."

At first they thought that they were alone, for all they saw were lights that moved forward and backward with amazing speed against a backdrop of infinite stars. As their souls got more used to the speed of these objects, they began to make out barely visible human-shaped bodies of light with bright halos around their heads.

Just then Wendy exclaimed, "I knew UFO's must be souls! How foolish people are not to realize this! Just like the song we wrote called 'The Spiritual Time', the blink of an eye in God's realm will last for millions of years in our world. Clearly the speed of a soul would have to be faster than the human eye can see."

They started to sing the song below:

For a moment Dylan and Wendy started to wish to be back to earth as they remembered that night when they slept in the crystal medicine wheel near Mt. Rainier. They had seen the stars seem to plunge rapidly from a stationary position and then dart sideways. All those souls that came to visit that day! This made them remember how one day the medicine man had packed up all his crystals and left in the night and how we never heard from him again.

Lost in these thoughts, they began to fall backward into empty space. It made them dizzy.

Realizing that their thoughts had begun evoking emotions, Dylan shouted out, "We must stop our emotions! Let's repeat the verse from the Lord's Prayer relating to soul."

They both repeated, "'Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'"

This stabilized them and they began to move toward the Holy Sun Absolute.

"Isn't it a shame that even one's happiest memories can link to unhappy memories and undermine the growth of soul," Wendy said.

"Thoughts have such power to set us free," replied Dylan, "but thoughts can also be our greatest enemy when tied to emotional memories. Our identities are so linked to them. Even physical death does not silence emotions, for the spirit still remembers. This is why we must always strive to reconcile all emotional conflicts while we still live in our bodies. An eternal existence as a spirit is to be preferred to an eternal existence as a ghost."

"Let us say a prayer together, so that we can truly die to all emotions that are within our spirit."

Wendy and Dylan held their hands in prayer and prayed with these words, "Let me forget the good and the bad. Let me be truly impartial. Let me not measure my life by anyone else's life. Let me give up everything that is me. Let me know the wisdom of God. Amen."

With super-human, super-spirit strength Wendy and Dylan died to everything that they held dear, even to their love, which could trap them in desire. They began to disappear, but, as they did, the once faint halos around their heads grew brighter. Soon they could dart around the universe just with a thought.

The knowledge of God appeared to them in the symmetry of all of God's creation from galaxies to the smallest particle. The farness of God's position, to be aloof from human affairs, but connected by soul, seemed so perfect. Of what purpose would a universe be, if it were in the image and likeness of human beings? God is present in every molecule of our being and yet we fail to connect to it. Only when thought is centered in soul can we possess the understanding that transcends all knowledge.

The black holes and whirling galaxies were just a memory as they arrived in the last vibration.

That which sets a soul apart from anything else in the cosmos is its eternal nature. The soul is the key to the which-came-first question of chicken or the egg or of nothing and something. There is a simple equation that defines time and that is:

eternal time= original force(-) + opposite force(+) + stabilizing force(=)

When original force and opposite force and stabilizing force are equal, time is eternal. It is the inequality of any of these three forces that causes time to move forward.

Only perfected souls can remain on three levels equally and therefore resolve into eternal time. On this earth a non-perfected soul can jump into eternal time for brief moments, but because it brings with it a birth in a physical body, it will slip back to the physical law of birth and death. The balance is now shifted to a predominance of original force.

Eternal time is always there. The paradox is that in the physical world there is a predominance of original force that makes it appear that time has a beginning and end, or, in other words, is finite. Consequently, for time to slow down, there is clearly a need in physical life to de-emphasize the physical body to bring the soul-spirit-physical body equation back into balance.

Quantum physics has a similar thesis namely the Heisenberg Uncertainly Principle that the observer, by the act of observing, affects the observation. In making an observation, the observer exchanges energy with it. For instance, the light of the microscope with its quantum of light impacts the particle being observed under it. In a same manner a human being inside of a physical body cannot experience true eternal life without distorting it.

Physical life is just one third of the equation, the other two-thirds actually are present, but invisible. The body can sometimes see the spirit, but it can never see the soul and the spirit can sometimes see the soul. For the forces must remain distinct or else they would have no power, like the words of spirit in the sacred books that have been tainted by physical thoughts and therefore have become powerless. Only those who can overcome the physical world can see the words of spirit and only spirits that have overcome the world of spirit can see the words of soul like the "pearls lying among the swine."

The vibration 'ti' is the next closest to God and therefore the highest that a soul can aspire to before being absorbed into God. Vibration 'ti' is the place in the Law of Seven where higher energy flows down from 'do' to those vibrations below it and lower energy flows up to 'do'. To merge forever 'nothing' and 'something' is the goal of the soul. Original force (matter), and opposite force (life), connected with stabilizing force (knowledge) is God. So it is with body (original force), and spirit (opposite force), connected with soul (stabilizing force) being 'God-like.'

The higher vibration 'do' is the place where everything and nothing are the same, Heaven and nirvana merged. A place to be feared and a place to be wished for. Like the state between dreaming and waking up. It is the potential of everyone and everything.

Vibration 'ti' is the completion of the soul, but it is imperative that this completion be under the direction of God's Will, therefore in God's image, for the soul must be in harmony with God. It is you that brought you onto this path, but now you must give up everything that you strove for. If souls were allowed to be joined with God without first being as God is, it would compromise God's existence and therefore it is, by law, impossible. This is why Moses Commandment says: 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me' and Buddha cautions 'Right Mindfulness.'

Jesus in the Lord's Prayer begins 'Our Father which art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name.' This is the next vibration 'do'. Those who exist at this vibration 'ti' are in a position of wishing that 'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.' As Psalm 23 says 'He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:' God is so close you can almost touch Him. The Essene 'Angel of Power' awaits. His energy flows through you and restores you and yet to obey His Will is what is essential.

This is the time to be 'meek'. It is now and only now that 'meekness' is a virtue. 'Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.' Not only the earth, but, as in the title of Gurdjieff's book, to inherit all and everything.

Wendy and Dylan walked to the end of a wall covered with glowing stars and galaxies. As they turned to walk around the wall, their bodies merged into each other. Walking parallel to the other side of this wall or where it used to be, they slowly became merged with everything existing. Nothing remained of themselves.

People imagine themselves to be as perfect as a portrait hanging on the wall. These portraits represent a life so perfect that it is unattainable in life, and yet it can be attained with the death of faults, pain, and aspirations. As physical death wipes clean all imperfections and turns all to dust, so did God wash away the souls of Wendy and Dylan turning them into that perfect portrait.

Hermetic Law states: 'Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.' For just as human beings ascend upward, angels descend down.

In the end there is nothing. No religions, no opinions, no laws, no hate, no love, no life, no sex, no sin. And yet as Wendy and Dylan continued forward, they were also everything.

Below them vanished the long since abandoned quarries of Waldron Island that once supplied the pavements for the streets of Seattle where Chief Seattle spoke of the souls that belonged to the red race that walk upon that ground. It is also where the soles of humans now walk.

Dylan and Wendy had reached the end of their journey and, like a circle is connected to itself in infinity, they had also reached their beginning. They were back on the ferry where their journey had begun!

In that split second in time Wendy and Dylan, Tarot, Kes, and Nirvana appeared. They were sitting at a table on the ferry. The announcement had just come on about landing shortly at Friday Harbor. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. They all stared at each other not knowing if what they had just experienced was a dream or reality.

Wendy spoke first, "Remember what our good friend, the medicine man, said about a vision quest. 'Do not speak of it for a year in order for its power to take effect.' Let's do that with our experiences. Next year we will all tell each other about our experiences."

So the Stephens family went downstairs and got into their car. As they drove off the ferry into the town of Friday Harbor and out toward American Camp, Nirvana recognized some of the landscape, but said not a word.

When they reached the St. Bernard, Bed and Breakfast (St. B. B&B for short), Wendy's sister Patricia and Dylan's sister Gillian came out to greet them, insisting that they open up the presents that they had bought right away.

"Let me warn you," said Patricia, "you may think these presents are weird."

"Somehow they called out to us," said Gillian, "and we just had to buy them."

Tarot unwrapped his present and it was a stone with a wolf howling at the moon drawn on it. He immediately put it in his shirt pocket. Nirvana's present was a funny little sheep toy made from a puff of wool. She smiled. Kes's present was an engraved pendant with the same words that were on the pendant he had found in the crop circle. Kes didn't let on but said, "Interesting."

"So do you like them," the sisters asked.

"Oh, yes, of course!"

Then Dylan and Wendy opened up their two anniversary presents. Dylan opened the smallest package that turned out to be a big floppy hat and another one with fruit on it for Wendy. Then Wendy opened the large present and it was a huge dolphin made from crystal. They both hugged and kissed the sisters and said, "Yes these are the most special presents!"

Dylan, Wendy, Kes, Nirvana, and Tarot, all felt so privileged to view the inner workings of the cosmos. Somehow the trivial workings of each day seemed very unimportant compared to the real laws that were at work behind the scenes.

Dylan thought how as a child there was nothing more comforting than the starting verse from Psalm 23: 'The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.' Sometimes it is so hard to believe this, but now he knew that it was true.

In this world we see only a tiny little piece of the whole, but we should not lose faith because of this. For one day in your not too distant future, we will all find out the truth that God exists in the total and so do we. That 3 x 3 really does equal 7.

No one can deny that there are two primary forces: original force or opposite force, push or pull, positive or negative, male or female. A specific example is Newton's second law of thermodynamics that states: 'For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.' Unfortunately regular physics does not admit to another force but calls it by other names that fit the specific situation such as inertia or gravity, but nuclear physics does in fact admit to stabilizing force namely neutral force: neutrons. I will leave the proofs up to nuclear physicists and content myself to say that stabilizing force is just as important as original force or opposite force.

Without original force, opposite force would not exist and, in the same way, if there were no original force together with opposite force then stabilizing force would not exist. This principle could be stated as follows: opposite force is created by original force; and, in the same way, stabilizing force is created by the action of original force together with opposite force; but each force, once it is created, then goes on to participate as a force itself with the other force or forces.

When original force, opposite force, and stabilizing force are combined in equal quantities, this results in a new original force (or entity possessing original force) which is higher or more complex than these three forces. It is this principle which causes matter, then life, and then knowledge to exist and, most importantly, makes it possible for humans to gain a body, a spirit and then a soul.

As a human being you experience every day the action of the Law of Three inside you by the interaction of your physical body, your mind, and your emotions. Other examples of the three forces can be seen everywhere. Another obvious example is that a fertilized egg can be created from male and female, but no baby will result if it is not in the proper conditions. Even our democratic government conforms to the Law of Three with the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court.  The spiritual realm is also subject to the Law of Three for instance: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit or Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu or Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob or Yin, Yang, and Tai Chi (their interaction).  The list goes on and on. Although the three forces participate in everything, we remain, for the most part, unaware of the complete inter-reaction.

In the new theories of physics and in the manufacture of electronic devices with 'fuzzy logic', no longer is something considered positive or negative, black or white, right or wrong. Now there is a recognition that processes in the real world can actually exist in between these states. In God's creation stabilizing force is always present behind what we see, but, seeing only incomplete processes, we mistakenly accept these as reality. The astronomers tell us that the universe is expanding, but one day it will contract or disappear, statisticians tell us that population is increasing, but one day it will decrease or disappear, physicians tell us that we are healthy, but one day we will be sick or die, the economists tell us that the stock market will rise, but one day it will crash. All these processes that make up our lives are completely temporary, because they are merely the action of original force and opposite force without stabilizing force.

In the Zen Vestal of Earthiest (known by many as Zoroaster), there is the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Shadow. Although many interpreters get caught up in the duality of this teaching, it should be understood that this duality is really meant to express the fact that some people try to move to the light, but others stay in the shadow world that leads to death. For those who move to the light, there is a road map to all of creation according to the Law of Three which demonstrates how 3 x 3 is everything existing.

          Having established the existence of the Law of Three, it is time to evaluate the other spiritual law known as the Law of Seven. This law is actually three times three (3 x 3).

The Law of Seven is best demonstrated in the musical scale as 'do', 're', 'mi', 'fa', 'sol', 'la', 'ti' with the next 'do' being an octave higher. The vibration 'do' is original force, 're' is opposite force, 'mi' is stabilizing force. In combination they are original force for 'fa' which is opposite force and 'sol' which is stabilizing force. This second grouping is then original force for 'la' which is opposite force and 'ti' which is stabilizing force.

Thus the Law of Seven is 3 x 3 as follows: 'do', 're', 'mi'; 'do+re+mi', 'fa', 'sol'; and 'do+re+mi-fa-sol', 'la', 'ti'. This represents the progression of the Law of Three from a lower state to a higher state  from 'do' to the next higher 'do'.

Referring to a piano in the key of C, the white keys represent the 7 vibrations in the Law of Seven made up of the 3 white piano keys starting at C that have the 2 black notes in between them and then the 4 white piano keys that have the 3 black notes between them. In respect to a rainbow the Law of Seven is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Each vibration in the Law of Seven is higher in vibration than the one before. For example  'ti' is higher than 'la' and violet is higher than indigo.  This is why the devil is depicted as red and heaven as purple.

The Egyptians in fact might have used seven instead of twelve in the zodiac if they had added the Law of Three to the law of four (which was popular in ancient times and in the present time with the Native Americans) to get seven instead of multiplying to get twelve. Considering that they recognized seven planets by adding the sun and moon to the five visible planets, it is strange that they did not use seven. They must have most certainly known about Law of Seven as it is visible in the rainbow. In fact, Moses, who is reputed to have lived initially in Egypt, knew about the Law of Seven since he presented Creation as happening in seven days.

The connection between the Law of Seven and the Law of Three can be visualized as a circle with a triangle within it. This was part of the enneagram as presented by G. I. Gurdjieff which he had learned in his travels chronicled in his book: "Meetings with Remarkable Men". A detailed derivation and use of this symbol is contained in Outspends's book: "In Search of the Miraculous".

The inner connected lines, that make the enneagram so unique, are the result of numbering the points around the circle corresponding to the vibrations 'do' -'ti' including the two extra points formed by the inner triangle and then connecting these points according to the repeating decimal result of one divided by seven. Although studies made about these lines are very popular, it must be understood that these relationships represent only the trivial ones whereas the Law of Seven around the circumference demonstrates growth.

The spiritual descriptions of the Law of Seven are described in many spiritual texts such as: The Twenty-Third Psalm, The Lord's Prayer, the ten Beatitudes, Buddha's Eightfold Path, Hermes' Kybalion, the Essene Book of Moses, the Ten Commandments, and Genesis creation.

Some of these such as the ten Beatitudes and the Ten Commandments are more than seven, but this is because they contain repeats. It may seem strange that the Ten Commandments would be seven since the Ten Commandments were written in stone, but remember in the Bible there is only a reference to two tablets and the commandments are unnumbered, clearly they were numbered later. Perhaps the Beatitudes were made into ten to match the Ten Commandments.

The eight in Buddha's Eightfold Path resolves easily into seven since it includes the higher vibration 'do' which is the eighth vibration.

Also The Twenty-Third Psalm and The Lord's Prayer have only four verses each, but this is because in man's spiritual growth the passage of 'do', 're', 'mi' represent merely the growth of every human being having body, feelings, and thought and consequently were not as important. In both these cases and in the Beatitudes and the Essene Book of Moses the verses are reversed instead of lower 'do' to higher 'do' (man to God), they are presented higher 'do' to lower 'do' (God to man).

With the exception of one verse in the Lord's Prayer, one verse of the Beatitudes, one of the Essene communions, a few verses in Hermes' Kybalion, and a few verses in the Genesis creation, the original order is maintained with forward or reverse order when necessary to match the correct vibrations. If a reordering was done, it is discussed in the left-hand side notes. No words have been changed from the original text.

First Vibration of the Law of Seven

Relating to body
(1 x 1 = 1)

This is the place where inanimate matter turns into animate matter. God can be considered to be at the higher octave 'do' and therefore this would represent the place where God's creation ends, but also it is the place where life begins its struggle back to God in the opposite direction of matter.

Since this is the beginning of life, it brings with it tremendous energy to become more complex and to evolve spiritually. This is why a baby having already passed from 'do' to 're', cries with feelings. For a human to possess merely physical impulses would be for a human to be like a tree or a blade of grass as this is the vibration of the lower octave 'do'.

Gurdjieff presented man as a three centered being. These three centers are body, feelings, and thought. Body is 'do', feelings are 're', and thought is 'mi'. The correct alignment of body, feelings, and thought is essential to spiritual growth. This is what Gurdjieff referred to as consciousness or being-Partkdolg-duty.

A distinction is being made between feelings and emotions. Feelings are more basic than emotions and cannot distinguish between right and wrong as emotions can. Feelings are joyful or sad, emotions are wiser knowing that every joy soon subsides as does sadness. When a song comes on the radio that reminds you of the joy you had when it played sometime in the past, this nostalgia is feeling based. Emotions will react to the emotional message of the song not the nostalgia. Emotions are spirit based, feelings are of the body.

The distinction between thought and directed thought that relates to soul is somewhat clearer. When you figure out how to get from one place to another, this is thought. When you create E=mc², you are using directed thought: there was insight that directed your thought for a significant amount of time.

Thought is higher than feelings and feelings are higher than body. In order for there to be spiritual growth, it is important that this be true at every moment. Clearly everyone possesses a body, but if the body rules feelings, then feelings will be corrupted. Feelings that are corrupted by body will then be a reaction to bodily desires. The same is true for the situation where body rules thought; then thought will be triggered by bodily desires. If feelings rule thought, then no thought occurs. Such a person would be like a little baby, smiling or crying, from outside stimuli, but clearly unaware of the larger picture.

The relationship 1 x 1 = 1 shows that it is the force 1 of the set 1 (the Law of Seven).

Say to yourself, "Let my body be a vessel for life."

Verses relating to vibration lower octave 'do'

Clearly verses 8-10 are the same and not three separate verses in the Bible, thus there are eight Beatitudes not ten, therefore lower 'do' to higher 'do'. (8 vibrations) Obviously embellished to cheer up the martyrs, but living righteously is more important. This is similar to Buddha's 'Right View' below.

'Right view' is the view that leads to perfection at the higher 'do'. It is the basis of spiritual growth.

Hermes is known as the founder of alchemy which is wrongly interpreted as the means to turn lead into gold, when really it was an allegory related to human spiritual development. The lower vibration 'do' is similar in nature to the higher vibration 'do'. This law clearly belongs in this vibration and at the higher 'do'.

The Ten Commandments like the ten Beatitudes have two sets of verses that are clearly related. They are 1 and 2 that are clearly about worshiping many gods as opposed to the one God and 9 and 10 that are about treatment of your neighbor. There must have been a lot of neighbor disputes amongst the Hebrew race to be embellished into two from one commandment on the same subject and to be embellished from its original statement that should have read "Thou must live honestly and rightly." This is similar to Buddha's 'Right View'.

All creation has a beginning which is the place where an effort is begun to reach its higher vibration state. To move from the lower (earth) to the higher (heaven). In a sense it states: God created a place where all possibilities could be realized, a place where a physical body could evolve into spirit and soul.

The vibration 're' is just ordinary feelings. Lower life forms have feelings, but these feelings are more rudimentary than those of man. According to the Law of Three, 're' is opposite force that results from the original force at lower octave 'do'. In other words the presence of life creates feeling.

A sheep according to Gurdjieff has two centers: body and feelings. A human when not ruled by physical body would be as a sheep except answerable to thought in the same way as the spirit is answerable to the soul which is then answerable to 'The Lord is my Shepherd.'

Cults thrive on man's ability to be ruled by feelings as when hypnotized or under mind altering drugs. There is no doubt that it "feels" good for feelings to be above body. When this is made possible by some leader's influence over your feelings, it is easy for these words to seem to be spiritual truth.

When feelings rule the body, it is possible to excel physically, otherwise the body would be lazy. When thoughts rule feelings, there is more consistency in actions.

Feelings must come from yourself; they cannot come from others. Feelings must also be positive since negative feelings will destroy the body beneath it. Only positive feelings can nurture the body and extend its life on earth.

Love can be a feeling, but true Love should rightfully belong with spirit at vibration 'fa' and 'sol'. As a feeling, love can be ruled by body, therefore sexual love, or it could be someone else's feeling and not your own which is also not conducive to spiritual growth. The feeling: love when linked to God's Love is the path to spiritual growth.

The relationship 2 x 1 = 2 shows that it is the force 2 of the set 1 (the Law of Seven).

Say to yourself, "Let my feelings be pure.

Verses relating to the vibration 're'

Feelings are opposite to body  when they are above the desires of the body. Material desire leads to war, but feelings that are not ruled by the body bring peace.

'Right Aim' requires the steadying of emotion. Gurdjieff refers to this as the need for a "wish" to "work" on yourself.

The vibration 're' exists because original or feminine polarity causes its opposite, masculine polarity to appear. Body causes feelings.

The Essene communions in terms of angels in reverse order (7 for the 7 days of the week) ending before Heavenly Father (higher octave 'do' numbered (7)). Peace corresponds to 'peacemakers' in the Beatitudes above.

Those who steal, disregard others' feelings and do listen to their own feelings. When you steal other people's feelings, you have none for yourself.

When the intention to create is made at vibration 'do', this vibration 'do' becomes original force to the next step 're' which is opposite force. 'Light' is opposite force; darkness is original force. The days begin at 're' as they move to higher 'do', therefore day 1 in this presentation is vibration 2 ('re') and day 7 is vibration 8 (higher 'do').  Note that the female principle, represented by darkness, the womb, proceeds the existence of the male principle, represented by light, as opposed to the next chapter of Genesis where God created female from Adam's rib.

Third Vibration of the Law of Seven

in the set 'do'+'re'+'mi' governed by Original force)
Relating to thought
(3 x 1 = 3)

The vibration 'mi' is thought which is the stabilizing force between body (original force) and feelings (opposite force). It is this force that raises man above the animals. As the mind becomes more complex such as in whales and dolphins, thoughts begin to have more control over body and feelings. Clearly man (and perhaps the whales and dolphins) is the only creature capable of having a mind sufficiently complex that it can balance the physical body and feelings equally within itself to create spiritual growth.

Thoughts must be above feelings, just as feelings must be above body. Those who are quick to anger let their feelings rule their thoughts. Thoughts must respond to feelings, but thoughts must make the decision.

The example of an old fashioned carriage fits very well: body is the carriage, feelings the horse, and thoughts the driver. If the horse does not follow the direction of the driver, the carriage will drive aimlessly. If the horse does not pull the carriage, the carriage will not move. Even the driver cannot move the carriage by himself without difficulty.

When thought rules feelings and feelings rule body, then you will have what Gurdjieff refers to as consciousness. Thoughts aligned with feelings aligned with body can become the start of spiritual growth. This is a state so simple, that it is amazing that we are not that way all the time, but, if you observe yourself impartially, you will find that you are not that way very often. Unfortunately thoughts are usually occupied with trivial things usually related to talking with others in free association which requires very little thought.

The relationship 3 x 1 = 3 shows that it is the force 3 of the set 1 (the Law of Seven).

Say to yourself, "Let my mind be occupied with thoughts that uplift my being."

Verses relating to the vibration 'mi'

Unfortunately 'heart' is misquoted. Perhaps it sounded more poetic than pure 'thought', but 'pure thought' is clearly the intention as evidenced by Buddha's 'right speech.'

'Right Speech' is essential to 'right thought.'

'All paradoxes can be reconciled' is the key expression which is describing the stabilizing force which exists at this vibration and is the third force.

This Essene communion of work stands for the need to balance thought, feelings, and body.

Adultery is impure thought that is really thoughts ruled by body. Thought must be 'right thinking.' This is also the position of the sexual center, so sexual moderation is necessary.

The action of original force and opposite force causes the stabilizing force to be present. This is the 'firmament' called 'Heaven' and it is from the action of these three forces: darkness, light, and heaven that the rest of creation can proceed.

Fourth Vibration of the Law of Seven
(Acting as the Opposite force of the Law of Three
in the set ('do'+'re'+'mi'), 'fa', 'sol' governed by Opposite force)
Relating to Spirit
(2 x 2 = 4)

The vibration 'fa' is the vibration at which spiritual growth begins. Ordinary physical existence remains in the realm of the lower octave 'do', 're' and 'mi' since it cannot pass from 'mi' to 'fa' without an extra boost. This is due to a change in the vibration ratios between 'mi' to 'fa' according to the just intonation scale. The just intonation scale is far more accurate than the "equal tempered scale used today as it matches the tones more precisely.

The Law of Three states that if the three forces are balanced equally, then they can become original force for the next higher vibration. In this case it is physical body, feelings, and thoughts which if balanced in consciousness can create the vibration 'fa' or the beginning of the spirit as opposite force. Spirit is the same as emotional body, astral body, or Kesdjanian body as in Gurdjieff's book, Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson. The term spirit is used on page 243 of Meetings with Remarkable Men and is associated with the second body of man also referred to as astral body on page 223.

Just as feelings at vibration 're' act as opposite force to 'do' as original force which creates thought at vibration 'mi' as stabilizing force, so does the spirit body as opposite force which begins at this vibration 'fa' and is completed at vibration 'sol' make it possible for the creation of a soul as stabilizing force which begins at vibration 'la' and is completed at vibration 'ti'.

The fact that vibration 'fa' acts as opposite force to the body is the reason why all the sacred texts speak of the need to give up material existence. For example becoming a beggar and separating from craving as Buddha taught, or "turning the other cheek" as Jesus taught, or following the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" as Moses taught or "being impartial" as Gurdjieff taught.

The spirit world is the world where angels greet you. The messages that flow from God which the angels bring can be experienced emotionally through the spirit. It is also the place of elves and fairies. This state can be induced by drugs or alcohol, but since it is dependent on the growth of the spirit inside, it can reduce the person to a child who can be evil or good purely on how he/she was treated by his/her parents and relatives. It is far better to induce this state by good works and a connection with nature and the spirits of animals and birds.

The relationship 2 x 2 = 4 shows that it is the force 2 of the set 2 (the Law of Seven).

Say to yourself, "Let me be free of my body, my feelings, and thought and let me be born again of the spirit."

Verses relating to the vibration 'fa'

The first part of this sentence is usually 'Thou prepareth a table before me in the presence of mine enemies', but God is not preparing a feast for your enemies, He is anointing you as a king in front of your enemies. The table part of the verse belongs in the next vibration. Being able to face up to ones enemy without self attachment is a kingly triumph worthy of being anointed.

It is the principle of 'harmlessness'. The "two-way" relationship between one's self and others creates the energy to build a Spirit.

This law of Hermes refers to the discontinuity between 'mi' and 'fa', vibration ratios speed up causing direction to change. Even opposite results can occur from that which was expected by straight-line prediction.

The Essene communion of love moved to this position as it belongs, as 'universal Love' is the "two-way" relationship between one's self and others creates the energy to build a Spirit.

This is similar to the Buddhist principle of 'harmlessness', creating the "two-way" relationship between one's self and others creates the energy to build a Spirit.

In the cosmic octave of everything existing, matter is formed from 'do' to 'mi', but it is life on earth that makes it possible to pass to 'fa'. In the same way man's spiritual growth must create life: a spirit. a key phrase here is 'whose seed is in itself.' The creation of an astral body at this vibration 'fa' requires the passage of a seed within you that would normally produce another being outside yourself to be used to create another you inside yourself built with the material of angels. This is the immaculate conception.

Fifth Vibration of the Law of Seven
(Acting as the Stabilizing force of the Law of Three
in the set ('do'+'re'+'mi'), 'fa', 'sol' governed by Opposite force)
Relating to Spirit
(3 x 2 - 1 = 5)

 The vibration 'sol' is the point of completion of the vibration begun from 'fa' and is the place where spirit is completed. The vibration 'sol' is the place where the third force of the Law of Three enters, namely the stabilizing force. This force is the balance being original force and opposite force and when in equal balance with original force and opposite force resolves into one. The completion of this vibration state balanced equally with 'fa' and 'mi'-'re'-'do' is the spirit (astral body of Kesdjanian body as in Gurdjieff's book).

Here in vibration 'sol', you might think that all the visions of heaven had been realized, but then you ask yourself whether 'streets of gold, harps, trumpets, and angel wings' would be enough. What a strange concept to climb a mountain that few people ever reach the top of, only to find another mountain, the beginning of soul at vibration 'la'. However, if you look carefully, you will see that these two mountains are connected by ridge. This is because 'sol' and 'la' do not have the discontinuity of vibration in just intonation that exists between 'mi' and 'fa'. The passage from spirit to soul is easier than the passage from body to spirit. Instead, the passage from 'sol' to 'la' is controlled in the enneagram by the passage from 'ti' to higher 'do' which means that it is controlled not by your own actions as with the growth of spirit, but rather by 'the will of God'.

It is the place where internal effort representing stabilizing force must be used to later pass from 'ti' to the higher octave 'do'. The common metaphor in the verses for this vibration is food (spiritual food) which emphasizes the need to feed the spirit in order for it to be able to be predominant over the physical body and to serve as a vehicle to obtain a soul at the next vibration 'la'.

The relationship 3 x 2 - 1 = 5 shows that the force 3 of the set 2 (the Law of Seven) must have 1 (set 1) subtracted from it. This indicates the need to separate away from body (set 1) at this vibration.

Say to yourself, "Let me nourish my spirit, that I may build a soul receptive to the will of God."

Verses relating to the vibration 'sol'

This food is the sustaining energy of the spirit which comes from the planets: the manna from heaven.

The 'lead us not into temptation' line has been placed before this line 'daily bread' to correspond to the 'prepareth a table' line in the Twenty-Third Psalm. It is more likely that the older Psalm would retain its correct order as a song, whereas the Lord's Prayer order could have been tampered without the proper knowledge of the importance of its order.

The Beatitudes, with order unchanged, matches all above with the same reference to being filled with food from God. This supports the reorder of the verse in the Lord's Prayer that also uses the metaphor of 'food'.

This refers to the requirement of Buddhist monks to rely on crusts of bread given to them by begging, thus the concept the God supplies all sustenance.

In the application of the principle at 'fa' of creating the "two-way" relationship between one's self and others, one learns of the inter-connectedness of all actions that supples the energy which fills the Spirit and prepares the groundwork of a Soul.

The Essene communion of life represents the same principle of the food of heaven. (The word 'eternal' has been deleted as the Spirit is not eternal, only the Soul is, although it does exist for a time in the atmosphere of the Earth.

'Father and mother' represent Soul and Spirit. The action of active force within the realm of Spirit creates the conception of a Soul body. The Spirit nurtures the Soul as a mother nurtures the child.

Deleting the extraneous verses 1.14 - 1.18 and moving 1.20 - 1.22 into the fourth day. This completes the creation of life like the creation of the Spirit body in man.

Sixth Vibration of the Law of Seven
(Acting as the Opposite force of the Law of Three
in the set (('do'+'re'+'mi')+'fa'+'sol)', 'la', 'ti' governed by Stabilizing force)
Relating to Soul
(2 x 3 = 6)

The vibration 'la' is the beginning of man's soul. It requires giving up not only the body, but also spirit because spirit, although free from body, is still tied to the earth as a planet. A soul must be built from God and therefore must be pure.

This vibration 'la' exists as opposite force to 'sol'-'fa'-('mi', 're', 'do') as original force. Since spirit is complete at vibration 'sol', the soul cannot exist without the spirit until it passes to vibration 'ti' where the soul will be complete. This implies that physical death will not stop the growth of soul, if a spirit is present, provided that there is a mental intention to develop further.

Before the soul is complete it must strive to remain separate from emotions as opposite force to spirit, in the same way that spirit was opposite force to body. The relationship of soul to spirit is similar to the relationship of thought to feelings in the physical body: feelings that energize the mind help thought, but thought is separate from feelings. Soul is defined as the third body of man in Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson.

The dilemma of this vibration is developing an opposite force to spirit when your spirit seems so God-like. Your spirit is, after all, above bodily desires and able to exist after death, but you must be convinced that this is not enough. Since the spirit is tied to the earth as a planet, it cannot exist after the earth is gone; but a soul is eternal because it is built by vibrations that come from the very center of the universe. The path of soul is for God, not yourself.

Few people reach the beginning of soul because they erroneously believe that soul is emotional. Believing that their spirits are souls, their heaven becomes an airy-fairy-new-age-la-la land, rather than being a place where God exists.

Imagine for one moment giving up all those so-called emotionally believed spiritual truths that keep you alive in this difficult and destructive world. Imagine giving up that self inside you that feels so real, namely your spirit. Can you do it? Is it there more than just to be as Mother Theresa? Will you Abraham (the body) sacrifice Isaac (your spirit), if God commands it? Are you willing to be crucified, if God commands it? If you cannot answer 'yes' then your spirit is just the support for your egotistical self and you will never gain eternal life.

The relationship 2 x 3 = 6 shows that it is the force 2 of the set 3 (the Law of Seven).

Say to yourself, "Let me learn to give up my most precious possession, my spirit, that I may remain as a soul receptive to the will of God."

Verses relating to the vibration 'la'

To build a Soul requires the facing of the concept that ones body dies and yet with proper guidance from 'shepherd' (God). This death to the importance of ones own existence on Earth is the beginning of a Soul.

To build a Soul requires resisting the temptations of not only the physical but also the emotional body of Spirit.

The implication of 'mourning' is related to the need to die to one's spirit in order to obtain a soul (Verse 2 has been swapped with verse 3 for a closer match.)

'Right effort' implies directed effort either from a teacher or from God in order to build a Soul.

The beginning of a Soul comes purely from mind as the Spirit came from emotions. Having obtained a Spirit, it is necessary to subjugate the emotions.

The Soul is built from wisdom.

The Soul must be built from God's image, not from man's.

Moving the fifth day verse to below 1.26, the creation of man, puts the creation of man on the correct vibration 'la'. This vibration represents a whole new aspect to creation. Man brings with him 'dominion' and 'dominion' in man is not from physical strength as there are many animals stronger, but rather it comes from rational thought. It is man's ability to think that brings into action the third force, the stabilizing force. The universe, matter, is original force, life is opposite force creating life within itself, and knowledge is the reconciling force (stabilizing force which combines this into One that is God.) 

In a similar way man begins the creation of a Soul at this vibration using thought vibrations. (Deleted is 'in our image, after our likeness' as it is covered in the next vibration.)

The vibration 'ti' is the next closest to God and therefore the highest that a soul can aspire to before being absorbed into God. The vibration 'ti' is the place in the Law of Seven where higher energy flows down from 'do' to those vibrations below it and lower energy flows up to 'do'.

Vibration 'ti' is the completion of the soul, but it is imperative that this completion be under the direction of God's Will, therefore in God's image, for the soul must be in harmony with God.

The relationship 3 x 3 - 2 = 7 shows that the force 3 of the set 3 (the Law of Seven) must have 2 (set 2) subtracted from it. This indicates the need to separate away from spirit (set 2) at this vibration.

Say to yourself, "Let God's will, that made it possible for me to obtain a soul, help me to cast off forever both my ego and my spirit. Clothe me in a cloak of invisibility so that I may see and be everything existing."

Verses relating to the vibration 'ti'

Note the use of 'Soul' not body.

God flows down to man, and God's will sets the path to completion of Soul.

'Meekness' today means willing to be trodden on by others, but rather meekness was meant to be submission to God's will.

Growth of Soul is from the mind and to be "mindful" of God is to be molded in His image.

The first statement is of greatest importance: 'everything flows, out and in' thus as Soul of man flows to God and God to man. It is the balancing of this equation that completes the Soul.

The power at this vibration comes from God not man. This is the lesson.

This is the warning to not let the ego believe that it is God

Obviously, it is the Soul that is in the image of God not the body.

The key here is that just as man is created in the image of God so must a soul be created in the image of God in order to pass from vibration 'ti' to higher octave 'do', In creation this is the connection to God that replenishes God and in man's spiritual development this is the place where "sin" is removed. These verses may seem the same as the verse before, but it is nonetheless a distinct position and therefore is rightfully a day unto itself, therefore the unused day due to moving verses up: the sixth day.

 The higher octave 'do' represents God and therefore contains all the vibrations from vibration 'ti' to the lower octave 'do'. It is similar in vibration to the lower octave 'do' and thus explains how man is in the image of God.

'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and life was the light of men.' (John 1.1-4)

The relationship 3 x 3 + 1 = 10 = 1 shows that 3 x 3 (the Law of Seven) when added to 1 (the beginning vibration: lower octave 'do') equals 10 (everything) which when  reduced as 1+0 then represents 1 (the same as the beginning).

Say to yourself, "God exists and, because I am in the image of God, I thank God for every day that I can be God's Will."

Recognizing that God directs the path and will create the environment necessary for the creation of ones Spirit and Soul.

God is in heaven, not in the physical realm which is merely a reflection of the unknowable name of God.

'Poor in spirit' is an unclear statement as what is implied is 'poor in possessions of the world' for heaven is pure spirit.

The word 'poor' which was used to describe those in the Essene monastery, thus to be 'poor' was to be rich in heaven.

Right Contemplation is clearly the attainment of the state of nirvana or absorption to God that is experience in refined meditation.

The higher octave 'do' = the lower octave 'do, heaven is just one octave higher than earth.

God is in heaven.

The Sabbath commandment clearly belongs here as the honoring of the possibilities that God created for us to enter into Godliness.

Creation is complete: lower 'do' has passed to higher 'do'.

Dividing up the zodiac into seven parts as in the Gurdjieffian representation in the previous chapter but this time paying attention to the fact that the frequencies of the intervals 'do' to the next higher 'do' are not uniform. The intervals are as follows: 'do' - 're' is 1/8, 'do' to 'mi' is 1/4, 'do' to 'fa' is 1/3, 'do' to 'sol' is 1/2, 'do' to 'fa' is 2/3, 'do' to 'ti' is 7/8, and 'do' to higher 'do' is 1. By multiplying these ratios by 360 degrees in a circle yields: 45, 90, 120, 180, 240, 315, 360 for 'do', 're', 'mi', 'fa', 'sol', 'la', 'ti', higher 'do'. This results in a more accurate representation of the intervals of an octave within a circle as follows:

The seven divisions work well, but for the planets and cusps they are too few to be useful. It would be logical to subdivide each of the seven sections into three parts giving twenty-one as in the Tarot cards (the Fool is merely zero so is not counted in the major arcana total), but this is too many. Consequently taking into account the astrological principle that the later part of a sign begins to take on the aspects of the next sign, it was logical to use the last third of each of the seven sections as a new sign having qualities mainly of the section of seven that it is in, but beginning to have qualities of the next. This gives seven major signs and seven lesser signs for a total of fourteen possible signs.

These are the seven lesser signs indicated by an unfilled circle marking their start with the filled circle marking the start of the seven major signs previously shown:

Each of the fourteen signs shown above have polarities (shown as active (+), passive(-), or neutral (=)). This is the result of the Law of Three acting inside the Law of Seven that was discussed in the previous chapter. The signs Buffalo and Deer are passive in relation to Wolf and Hawk that are active which results in neutral force in Whale and Frog. All of these are then passive to Bear and Turtle that are active resulting in neutral force in Dolphin and Hummingbird. (This last step when related to human spiritual development is the completion of an astral body or spirit.) These preceding signs are then passive in relationship to Eagle and Horse which this time are neutral because this is the point in human spiritual development where submission to the will of God is the only possibility in obtaining a soul. Consequently it is God that brings the active force with the final two signs Raven and Rattlesnake being passive.

Applying the seven divisions to a year, we can arrive at the starting and ending days of each of the seven sections 'do', 're', 'mi', 'fa', 'sol', 'la', 'ti' and the duration of each of these seven sections in days by using a circle of 365 days (366 in leap year) instead of 360 degrees as we did for the circle. By dividing each of the seven sections into three and taking the first two-thirds and the last third, we calculate the seven greater and seven lesser signs respectively in degrees relative to 360.  The lesser sign has qualities of the greater sign above it and some of the qualities of the greater sign below it.

In traditional astrology, if the birth-date falls at the beginning or end day of a sign, it must be calculated precisely to determine which sign it is actually in. This is because the signs are all relative to the vernal equinox that changes from year to year for a variety of reasons. This is also true of Gurdjieffian astrology. For your Sun-sign (birth sign) only the greater signs are used namely Buffalo, Wolf, Whale, Bear, Dolphin, Eagle, or Raven and ignoring the lesser signs such as Deer, Hawk, Frog, Turtle, Hummingbird, Horse, and Rattlesnake.  The planets and cusps can be either the greater of lesser sign depending on their location so the intervals shown to the rule of each sign apply to them.

If you already know your astrological sign in degrees, all that needs to be done is to express these degrees in terms of 360 degrees that can be accomplished by the formula:  Degrees plus (Sign number minus 1) times 30

 For example if your astrological sign (Sun-sign) is 20 degrees Virgo, the sixth sign, then 20 + (6 - 1) x 30 = 170 degrees. Looking at the diagram on the previous page Bear is from 120 to, but not including 180, so your Gurdjieffian sign would be Bear since the greater sign is your astrological sign. If this was your rising sign or planet degrees then the sign would be Turtle that is from 160 to but not including 180 which is the lesser sign.

The following table shows the beginning and end days and the duration in days of each greater sign and the starting degree of the greater and lesser sign. The table on the next page shows the beginning and end days and the duration in days of each greater sign and the starting degree of the greater and lesser sign:

The signs being Native American can also be placed on a medicine wheel. The medicine wheel is a sacred circle drawn on the ground with the four directions: north, south, east, and west being aligned to true north, south, east, and west. In addition, to these four directions, are added by some, three other positions termed above, below, and within. This makes seven positions and matches well with this seven-position system. Traditionally, and also here, Buffalo is north, Wolf is south, Eagle is east, and Bear is west. The rest of the positions are not established by tradition. Here the Dolphin was chosen to be above, the Whale below, and the Raven within. The dolphin was chosen for above because of its affinity with angels, the whale obviously is the ruler of the deep, and the raven holds a special importance to all Native American cultures somewhat like the coyote, but being black it has no vanity and it is in closer contact with the Great Spirit that must be first found within.

The lesser signs are then arranged in a counterclockwise direction halfway between, therefore:

with Deer to the left of Buffalo (northwest),

Horse to the left of Eagle (northeast),

Turtle to the right of Bear (southwest),

and Hawk to the right of Wolf (southeast).

Frog being the lesser sign of Whale is between below and above which is where it likes to be.

Hummingbird being the lesser sign of Dolphin is between above and below which is evidenced by its sudden appearance and disappearance.

The Rattlesnake being the lesser sign of Raven is assigned within and below as it is the unifying principle that represents the death of oneself in the unity of the Great Spirit.
